    5. GOALS/OBJECTIVE: The Seminar Workshop Series aims to :


    1.Acquire knowledge and skills on Campus Journalism
    2.Orient student writers to duties and tasks of
    Journalist.
    3.Increase competencies as school paper staff member.

    7. OVERVIEW/RATIONAL
    Campus Journalism has been mandatory in all Philippine Schools. Through
    campus journalism,student’s ability of expressing himself through writing is
    developed.Aside from that,student writing skills are also enhanced.For a school
    to have a good publication,campus writers are needed. This is the main purpose
    why seminars and workshops on campus journalisms are conducted. Students
    at their young age must be taught and trained to be journalists.To become an
    effective journalist intensive training and practice should be implemented.Since
    not all students can afford to attend seminar workshops ,the proponents initiate
    a program to conduct school-based training in campus journalism.
    8. ACTIVITIES/STRATEGIES:
    The seminar workshop series is focused on developing effective staff
    writers.Students shall be taught on gathering informations.They shall acquire
    knowledge in news and editorial writing,feature writing,editoral writing and
    cartooning,sportswriting and photojournalism.The highlight of the seminar is enabling
    the participants to write their outputs that will be evaluated by the speakers. Students
    with expressive outputs will become a staff member of the school paper and will be
    trained further to hone their journalistic skills. They shall also represent the school
    paper on press conference.
    Resource persons shall tackle in the different features of Journalism through
    Lecture workshop series preceded by participants drafting of outputs which shall serve
    as the culminating activity, Meanwhile,the participants are expected to listen attentively
    to lectures and keep in mind the techniques and pointers presented.
