- Ideally, this lesson plan would be catered for a group of beginner-intermediate level 4th grade ESOL students who
speak a variety of languages such as, Arabic, Swahili, Vietnamese, Burmese, and Spanish.
o How does this lesson connect with and build on the previous lessons?
- This lesson is will serve as a tool for students when answering writing prompts that require one paragraph or
essay long responses.
Central Focus
o What is the central focus for the content in the learning segment?
- The central focus of this learning segment is to expose ESOL students to the appropriate use of punctuation in
various sentences when writing and practice when to capitalize a word (at the beginning, proper nouns, days of
the week, holidays, proper adjectives, etc.)
