How Do We Exercise Animal Rights?

Animals have multiple roles to play in our society: pets, service animals, police partners, and
perhaps farm animals. As ethical dilemmas continue to evolve, the latter has long been debated by
philosophers whether or not the animals should possess what humans have--- rights. However, this issue
has not yet been solved and the problems relating to animal abuse, such as neglect and violence, which
are the most common cruelty, continue to evolve as well. For years, humankind has manipulated,
neglected, and abused animals; people used them for entertainment, medical and scientific researches,
human consumption, and other animal violence. Despite this alarming condition, humans failed to
recognize the phenomenon, instead, they let these atrocities continue to happen over and over. Humans
have changed ecosystems dramatically from its food, fresh water, timber, fiber, and fuel, which resulted
to degradation of animal habitat for over the past years. Hence, this phenomenon needs a change, in all
aspects and in all angles, animals must be treated with the people's utmost respect. However, how do
the mankind exercise animal rights? Thus, in this essay, discussions regarding animal rights are explained
to let the people completely understand and recognize this serious phenomenon.

While there is an increased rate of animal cruelty, this could be mitigated through an advocacy
which promotes animal rights. This advocacy may be conducted through various seminars or webinars to
promote humane treatment to animals, which could educate the public about how animals are abused
and mistreated. The outcome of this event is beneficial to all mankind, including the government,
because this advocacy could help provide holistic plan and interventions for the discipline of the people
towards animals and their nature. Through the influence of the advocates to the public and with their
unified cooperation, this could provide a better relationship among living organism.

Furthermore, in this advocacy, its awareness gives emphasis to anti-killing of animals for
entertainment, non-violence, and prohibition of hunting, experimentation, and hard labour. Such
exercises do not only benefit the animals, but also the humans' global ecosystem. Clearly, animal cruelty
violates the rights of animals which is why engagement of the government are of necessity and
effectiveness which supports the action by implementing strict laws for the protection of animals. With
this strict method, this action may garner a wider public support whereby these atrocities from
slaughterhouse, factory farms, and laboratories are prohibited to perform.

As human society continues to struggle with physical violence despite implementation of human
rights, people are even dealt with greater problems and that is advocating compassion and justice not
only for humans, but also for nonhuman species. This essay reiterates the sympathy of people to change
their fundamental views and behavior in the world. Neither you, nor I, cannot work this out, but with
everyone's collaboration, we can devise strategies to have a better justice system throughout the globe.
As Albert Schweitzer (n.d.) said, "The animal rights movement is part of our wider struggle for peace,
justice, and respect for all beings and creation."

Animal abuse is The government may have declared animal protection as law, however, an increased
rate of animal cruelty cannot deny the fact that animal welfare was not given importance to the citizens.
Thus, in this essay, advocacy on promoting animal rights is discussed to let the people fully understand
this circumstance.

For years mankind has manipulated and neglected animals. They used animals for
entertainment, for medical and scientific researches, for human consumption and for many other
things. In any field, animals have always been there for humans to be exploited (The Naked Eye
Films, 2006). Despite this alarming condition, humans failed to recognize the phenomenon, instead, they
continue to give threats to these animals by destroying their habitats. Humans changed most
ecosystems beyond recognition in a dramatically short space of time. The way society has sourced its
food, fresh water, timber, fiber and fuel over the past 50 years has seriously degraded the
animals‟ living environment (Singer, 2006).
While wickedness resonates in this cruel world, there could be at least countable people who
can comprehend that as marginal cases of humanity deserve rights, so do animals. As dominant species,
humanity are given moral reasoning to consider the ecological and environmental balance, which
includes the animal protection and rights for that. Hence, the people are obliged to step forward to
