Online seminar
The event took place on 11th of august, 2022 on online platform zoom
where a discussion was carried out by Mr. Sopan Joshi (in the image
below) on the topic “Why we fail to understand climate changes”. First
thing that came to our mind is ‘what is climate change?’. Climate
change is a change in the usual weather patterns in a region. In the last
couple of decades, temperatures have risen in the earth climate. This
Change is impacting local climates all around the world. But the
question is whether the climate or whether are same things? To this
question the answer would be no, weather and climate are not the
same thing. Weather is the day-to-day changes in temperature and
precipitation in a place like it today, it can be a hot or rainy weather
but climate on the other hand is much more slowly process. Earth
climate has been about the same for 9000 years, and actually weather
is the effect of climate change. First of all, we are not able to
understand change in climate only through one effect, there are lots of
effect that might cause changes in climate that is beyond human
imagination. Most people thought that or even scientist are working
on greenhouse effect that is the main cause of rising temperature. As
earth’s atmosphere also acts, like a greenhouse. Sunlight reaches our
planet and warm it.
Some of the heat is affected back into spaces. Some of the heats is
trapped by gases in earth’s atmosphere. The greenhouse gases include
carbon dioxide, water vapor, methane, nitrous oxide. When sunlight
reaches earth, the surface absorbs some of the light’s energy and
reradiates it as infrared waves. Oxygen and nitrogen don’t interface
with infrared waves in the atmosphere gases its different. Carbon
dioxide for example absorbs energy at a variety of wavelength between
2000 and 15000 nanometers- a range that overlaps with that of infrared
energy. As co2 soaks up this infrared energy, it vibrates are – emits the
infrared energy back in all direction. About half of that energy goes out
into spaces and about half of it returns as heat contributing to the
greenhouse effect. Major mass extinction is also responsible for
climate change mainly, in today’s time it is the anthropology
extinction. All these reasons are concluded by many scientists but the
question again lies that why climate is changing at such as fast space
as it is a slow reason—using of coal and petroleum that are the largest
carbon production at an industrialization ire using of these mainly.
For production of goods and resources. As due to coal and petroleum
used – CO2 is produced in large quantity that cause greenhouse effect
ultimately. Human activities have caused lots of impact on global
temperature changes. The impact of climate changes are farmlands
turns into desert, in other regions, the opposite happening, with the
extreme rainfall causing historic flooding- as seen recently in China,
Germany. The worst effect of climate change is in tropical area that
has a high reserve of Biodiversity. Some Countries responsible for
climate change are example are Europe & America, Russia.

Uk and Europe are vulnerable to flooding caused by extreme rainfall.

Middle east countries experience extreme heatwaves and us drought
condition are likely seen. Government is working together and in a
pledged to try to keep global warming to 1.5c. The UK is hosting a
summit for wails leaders called COP26, in November, where countries
will set out their carbon reduction plans for 2030. Some changes can be
done at our level individuals that we can take a fevers flight, live car –
free or use an electric car, buy energy efficient products, such washing
machines, when they need replacing, switch from a gas heating system
to an electric heat pump. In slate or home. Nevertheless, the
conclusion is that natural system around the world is been affected by
regional climate changes, particularly temperature increase and that
these temperature increase are likely to be the result of anthropogenic
emission of greenhouse gases.
