INTRODUCTION
In our daily lives, electricity is important in doing our everyday routines and it's also
hard to do things and works when emergency power outage occurred. This power outage can
obstacle to people's job and important work that needed to be done also to those people that
So, we think of a thing that can be alternative power or electricity resource. Soil is
beneficial in our lives; not only does it serve as our medium for cultivation to plant and grow
crops, but it can also generate electrical power to give us electricity. Soil has chemical energy
in its organic compounds that can be derived from decomposed biota, including dead animals,
microbes, and plant matter. Chemical energy can be converted into electrical energy when
The microbial fuel cell (MFC) is a technology that uses exoelectrogens to convert the
chemical energy of organic matter directly into electrical energy through the metabolism of the
exoelectrogen (Wan et al., 2020). It directly uses easily degradable organic matter as the
substrate of exoelectrogens to realize the conversion of chemical energy into electricity (He et
al., 2015; Pratt and Tate, 2018). Electrons are constantly generated at the anode, passed
through the external circuit and consumed by the cathode electron acceptor, forming a circuit
that generates current (Jacome et al., 2016). Indeed, soil play an important role in the lives of
everyone.
Our main problem in this study for which we want a solution is the shortage of
electricity that causes many disturbances in our routines. We may not exactly give a full and
large amount of electricity, but instead we want to create an alternative resource of electricity,
even a small amount, because it can also help some devices function.
In this study, we want to have an alternative power or electricity source that will help
every household meet its needs. It also aims to reduce electricity consumption, develop a
device that will be extremely useful in the event of a power outage, and generate electricity by
utilizing the chemical energy of decomposed materials. We want to prove that soil can be used
assessed. In order to convert a biochemical into an energy that can carry electricity, this
One of the most crucial things people use is electricity and that they utilize crucial
items to make their lives easier. A good flow of power is required to obtain a decent source of
electricity.
There is much that can be done to say that this project is significant in the research that
we can carry out and in its development as an alternative electric source that can be utilized
even in some things where we already use energy. As the world develops, there are many
changes, so we believed that the biochemical used by the microbial fuel cell (MCF) is a great
help, not only for others, but it can also be used if you want and can do it if you know the right
production process. In this project, we are determined to offer a substitute power source, even
if it is not long-lasting.
RESEARCH QUESTIONS
This study aims produce a great flow of electricity that we use in our daily lives using
1. How does the power soil generate electricity for use by people?
2. How much voltage can it withstand?
In this study, our primary objective is to generate volts to have electricity that can be used
specifically for using soil, and the reason for the circumstances is to create a source of electricity,
even if it's an alternative. To sum up everything that has been said thus far, this study can
1. identifying potential uses for soil as a substitute for conventional energy sources and
developing strategies to reduce the amount of electricity used in the process of soil
production.
3. to comprehend the vital role that biomass energy plays in producing electricity.
4. To find the most efficient method of producing energy from soil and increasing the
5. To create a system that uses soil to collect, transfer, and store energy consumptions.
This section is the analyze information about the research study. It contains the
guidelines in undertaking every step of the research. Particularly, here are the discussion and
The information on these aspects can be used to estimate the number of samples and
the methodology for collecting soil samples. New precise soil sampling methods have been
developed as a result of canopy color. Precision soil sampling's main objective is to permit
changing power application rates based on each situation's specific needs.within a field zone.
To put it another way, the application of electricity prices is suited to what is required in
various fields.
Sandy soil is the primary type of soil. Small fragments of worn rock make up this
substance. Sandy soils are among the worst types of soil for growing plants because they
have very few nutrients and a poor capacity to hold water, making it difficult for the roots of
the plants to absorb water. The drainage system benefits greatly from this kind of soil.
Sandalwood is typically created when rocks like granite, limestone, and quartz break down or
fragment.
Silt soil, which is known to have much smaller particles compared to sandy soil and is made
up of rock and other mineral particles, which are smaller than sand and larger than clay. It is
the smooth and fine quality of the soil that holds water better than sand. Silt is easily
transported by moving currents and it is mainly found near the river, lakes and other water
bodies. The silt soil is more fertile compared to the other three types of soil. Therefore, it is
this soil are tightly packed together with each other with very little or no airspace. This soil
has very good water storage qualities and makes it hard for moisture and air to penetrate into
it. It is very sticky to the touch when wet but smooth when dried. Clay is the densest and
Loam soil. It is a combination of sand, silt and clay such that the beneficial properties
of each are included. For instance, it has the ability to retain moisture and nutrients; hence, it
is more suitable for farming. This soil is also referred to as agricultural soil as it includes an
equilibrium of all three types of soil materials, being sandy, clay, and silt, and it also happens
to have humus. Apart from these, it also has higher calcium and pH levels because of its
inorganic origins.
Preparation of Treatments
The materials and instruments needed for this study are enumerated as follows:
different types of soil, small shovel, metal, jumper wires with crocodile clips, copper
electrodes battery, volt-ohm-meter, electrical tape, protective eyewarm and safety clothes.
We also needed a welding machine and welding electrodes to make the device or the
backbone of the device. These are the important materials needed in performing experiments,
In conducting this experiment, we will make a device that we call the power soil. This
device is composed of metal, which will serve as the backbone of the device. Next are the
jumper wires with crocodile clips, copper electrodes attached to the metal, and the volt-ohm-
meter.
In various locations, including backyards, open spaces, farms, and more, different
types of soil can be found. We can look for various soil kinds readily because such locations
The set-up will be easy to conduct because of the device form that we are going to
build. The power soil device was able to manage the different types of soil to generate volts.
Place the device in the ground and use a volt-ohm meter to gauge the voltage it produces.
Additionally, attach the battery that will be used to store the created voltages, check to see
when it is full, and then use it to charge your lights, telephones, flashlights, and other devices
it can power while observing the volts generated and the time needed to fully charge the
battery. And the battery will be connected to the device to hold the electricity coming from
the soil. That was the setup, and monitoring the volts generated was one of the constants that
Risk Assessment
This chapter demonstrates how to calculate the potential effects of interrupting time-
sensitive or important business activities. Even though this study demonstrates significant
safety benefits, the project still has a number of other risks that could negatively impact it.
The researchers will employ high-top wires that are joined and conduct electricity to
be stored in a battery when wiring materials. Batteries, for the batteries that the researchers
will likely use, will likely require us, researchers to get a wonderful type of batteries in order
to prevent malfunctions and issues during the trial. Any type of soil, even the dirt we use in
our gardens and backyards, will operate to create energy when used as a building material.
Last but not least, a Volt Ohm Meter will be used to check the voltages and ensure that the
researchers can create the proper volts to conduct the experiment. Using it won't be safe if the
circumstances aren't proper. The researchers will be careful to carry out the experiments in a
Waste Disposal
After having an extra soil or waste soil, wet soil can be more difficult to work with and
Waste soil is not something you can just throw away. You must properly and legally
dispose of any unneeded soil. Contrary to popular belief, soil cannot be disposed of in a
wheelie bin for general waste. Instead, it can be recycled by transferring used soil to a garden
or field, which will help plants and other living things because it is rich in nutrients.
