Used google maps for measurements
2
Total area: 1,129.84𝑚
Question 4.
Length of each perimeter:
CD = 34m
DE = 22m
EF = 38m
FC = 53m
Total Perimeter: 147m
Length of diagonal:
CE = 40m
Area of quadrilateral:

1,129.84𝑚
Question 5.
Question 6. d) The scaled area differs from the Google maps region by 10.29. The similarities
include the diagonal length, which produced an exact result, and the angles, with five of them
falling within 3 degrees of the tech results. The only possible explanation is that the
measurements in the Google Maps diagram are not precise enough. This explanation is
supported by evidence. On Google Maps, the length of all sides was to two significant figures,
and the scaled length had more, making it more precise. In conclusion, the explanation of why
the area results differed was a lack of precise lengths from Google Maps.
Part B: Designing a ferris wheel and waiting area
Question 1.

a) Periodic function is a function that repeats itself at regular intervals. The period of a
function is an important characteristic of periodic functions, which helps to define a
function. A periodic function y = f(x), having a period P, can be represented as f(X + P) =
f(X). Some of the periodic function graphs include: sine wave, cosine wave, square
wave, triangular wave, sawtooth wave The graph of each periodic function has
translational symmetry. A ferris wheel's movement can be characterised as a periodic
function since the carts travel at regular intervals and always return to the same value.
