Singaporean English News: The Straits Times

After watching and listening to both news videos, I noticed that, while grammar was used
correctly in both, there were still noticeable differences. The first thing I noticed is that Filipino
news anchors and reporters speak more fluently than Singaporeans, have a more American
pronunciation, and I understand everything they say. Singaporean news anchors' accents are so
thick that when they try to speak English, it's difficult to understand them. These are my
observations based on the videos I watched. Filipinos, on the other hand, have a lot of influence
in terms of what they watch and listen to, so these sources assisted Filipinos in developing
English naturally.
