    Our idea is “unless I am unable to achieve it” = “I cannot


    be happy"
    A. The Ultimate Revelation of the Father
    But why is that some people, even if they seemed to have

    - We have the tendency to jump in other places because


    of dissatisfaction of their situation or to find fulfilment

    - People will do anything just to be happy


    - There are things we can let go and live without
    - One day St. Thomas heard a voice from Jesus, telling
    him BENE SCRIPSISTI DE ME THOMA = you
    have written well of me, Thomas… what do you want
    What is our core? as a reward
    • DOMINE NON NISI TE = Nothing lord except you
    In latin, COR means heart : “what is in our hearts?”
    - Just like St. Thomas, we all have the desire to be happy

    Research - There are things that only satisfy for only a short pe-
    riod of time (EXAMPLE: FOOD - magugutom ka ulit)
    - What we actually want or love
    - Meron din for a long time
    - What we truly want
    - Its a never ending search for happiness
    Hierarchy of Values
    “What good must I do” = only God is good

    - you do what God tells you to do We look up to Christ as the ultimate revelation of the Fa-
    ther, who calls us to communion, and as the good teacher
    “What else must I do?” who leads us to the Father,.

    - Sell what you have, give money to the poor, then come
    and follow me (sagot ni Jesus)
    God as our Personal Absolute

    “Many of us are not ready to let go”

    The gate to heaven is very narrow, just enough for only a


    person like passing through the eye of a needle - so wala
    kang madadalang possessions or attachment kundi sarili
    mo.

    There is that void in our heart that ONLY GOD can fill

    CHRIST IS THE ONLY WAY TO THE FATHER

    The Blessed mother and saints’ role = to bring us closer


    to Christ
    “Para kanino ka ba nabangon”
    Christ = to bring us closer to God

    Mary + Saints -> Jesus -> God


    God and the Spirit is within us

    Our origin is God and our ultimate purpose is to go to GOD = 7


    God and for God

    To be truly human is to be like God. Because man is cre-


    ated in the image and likeness of God.

    b. CHRIST IS GOD IN A HUMAN WAY

    It is only in the mystery of the incarnation of Christ that


    people can understand who they are and what their pur-
    pose in this world is.
    By getting to know Christ we get to know who we are
    and what our purpose is

    Christ is the answer

    Christ is the way, the truth, and the life Our Goal: Sequela Christi = the following of
    Christ

    We rise from the temporary setbacks of our


    lives and we redirect ourselves back to Christ,
    “once we give up our own wealth and very self.”
    Following Christ entails radical conversion: forget-
    ting oneself and committing everything to Christ.

    - Stripping the old self of that sinful life to take on the


    new white garment of Christ.

    - It is dying to oneself but rising again as a new per-


    son configured to Christ, no longer living one’s life
    for one’s own but for Christ.

    - Being immersed in the waters of baptism all over


    again and time and time again

    We are not only physical beings but also spiritual beings.

    Man does not live by bread alone.

    Soul = what gives us life

    Inspired = full of spirit; full of life (opposite of expired)

    What goes back to God is our spirit.

    What is right vs what is convenient
