My colleagues call me Oldie Lee. I (1) (work) as a postman for 50 years but I
(e.g.) will retire (retire) soon because my eyesight (2) (get) worse recently. I
still recall *(3) (deal) with thousands of letters every day when we (4)

emails to his friends already and so he would not send letters anymore. I smiled back but I felt sad
deep inside as I (10) (be) a postman for so long. No matter how advanced
technology (11) (become), it cannot replace my special feeling for
letters. They (12) (be) a treasurable part of my memory forever.

(1) Thousands of passengers use Hong Kong International Airport every day. (2) The government
first planned the airport in the early 1990s and (3) finally opened it in 1998. Since then,
(4) many travellers have voted it as the world’s best airport.
Even though the airport is already very large, (5) the government is expanding it in different ways
now. *(6) They are going to build a third runway.
The airport is a big success but achieving this wasn’t easy and maintaining it will be hard. While
(7) the government was preparing the initial plans, (e.g.) lots of people opposed them because of
the project’s cost. However, in future travel surveys, I’m confident, (8) travellers will still vote our
airport the world’s best.
