MODULE 2
(Week 2)
MODULE OVERVIEW
Nursing is a professional that requires intensive training on both theoretical and clinical
perspective. This course is designed to enable students to develop an understanding of the
relationships between the structures and functions of the human body. This course will also
involve laboratory activities, projects, textbook material, models, diagrams, journal writings, and
clinical studies.
Nursing can be described as both an art and a science; a heart and a mind. At its heart,
lies a fundamental respect for human dignity and an intuition for a patient’s needs. In the
beginning of the nursing education, the recipient of nursing care, the person must be known in
the form of rigorous core learning on how the body functions with its parts and structures.
The study and its knowledge of the human body serves as the foundation for healthcare
training. Learners explore the various eleven (11) bodily systems. Having gone through with the
theoretical inputs on the introduction of anatomy and physiology, the next step that you need is
on the application of these theoretical inputs. This module is formulated to help you integrate
the beginning theoretical inputs of Anatomy and Physiology to higher professional nursing
subjects.
LEARNING MAP
At the end of the interactive lecture discussion on skeletal system, you are expected to:
1. Describe the macroscopic and microscopic structure of a long bone.
2. List the functions of these parts.
NING 3.MAPDistinguish between intramembranous and endochondral bones, and explain how
such bones develop and grow.
4. Discuss the major functions of bones.
At the end of the interactive lecture discussion on muscular system, you are expected to:
5. Identify the muscles of the human body and its functions/purposes/locations.
6. Discuss the physiology of muscle contractions.
DEEP DIVE
Task for ANAPHY 101. Identify and label the parts of the human skeletal system. You
