    Introduction:

    The purpose of the project entitled as “HOSPITAL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM” is to


    computerize the Front Office Management of Hospital to develop software which is user
    friendly simple, fast, and cost – effective. It deals with the collection of patient’s
    information, diagnosis details, etc. The main function of the system is register and store
    patient details and doctor details and retrieve these details as and when required, and also
    to manipulate these details meaningfully System input contains patient details, diagnosis
    details, while system output is to get these details on to the screen. The interface is very
    user-friendly.

    Objectives:
    The project “Hospital Management System” is specially designed to cover a wide range
    of hospital administration and management processes. The Hospital Management System
    is designed for any hospital to replace their existing manual paper-based system. It
    includes registration of patients, storing their details into the system in a computerized
    system. The software has the facility to store the details of every patient and the staff
    automatically. It includes a search facility to know the current status of each room. The
    Hospital Management System can be entered using a username and password. It is
    accessible either by an administrator or receptionist. The data can be retrieved easily. The
    data are well protected for personal use and makes the data processing very fast.
    Implantation tools :
    Programming Language : C++ language.

    Features :
    1. Add new patient record:
    In this feature, user can add a new patient record which should contain name, address,
    age, sex, disease description and specialist name to be referred are available. Thus, given
    information is stored in file.
    2. Search or edit patient record:
    In this mini project, two features – searching and editing patient records are one of the
    most useful features. User can search or edit record through patient’s full name.
    While searching record for a particular patient, all the information corresponding to the
    respective patient are displayed. These include the ones provided while adding a new
    patient record. If wrong information about record number or patient full name is
    provided, the program displays a message saying that no records were available.
    3. List record of patients:
    In hospital management system c project, users can list patient records by choosing any
    one of the four options listed below:
    • Records of patients in alphabetical order .
    • Records of Emergency patients .
