    The blue house was built in 1904 in Mexico City's Coyoacan neighborhood by Frida Kahlo's Hungarian-German immigrant father Guillermo Kahlo. It has eight rooms on the ground floor including a living room, kitchen, and dining room, and Frida Kahlo's studio was built on the first floor by Diego Rivera in the 1940s. The 1200 square meter property includes tropical gardens, a fountain, cacti, and a turquoise pool. After Frida Kahlo lived there until her death in 1954, it became a museum in 1958 housing artifacts from her life and work.

    Is located on Londres Street in the Coyoacan neighborhood of Mexico City

    INFORMATION ABOUT THE PLACE


    The ground floor of the house has eihgt rooms: living room, kitchen,
    dinning room, Rivera´s bedroom and four aditional room. On the
    first floor is Kahlo´s studio, built by Rivera in the 1940s. The garden
    is adornaded with a fountain, polted cactus and a stepped pyramid.
    On the other side of the house is a garden with a tropical plants and
    turquise pool.

    the family house onad the rest areas

    WHAT IS USED FOR NOWDAYS?


    Frida Kahlo lived in the Casa Azul until her death in 1954. On Diego
    Rivera´s instructios, the house became a museum in 1958, only one year of
    the painter´s death. Today the house opens its doors daily the visitors, so
    they can learn about Frida´s close relationship with her art and her daily
    life
