HAMARTIOLOGY - The Study of Sin

This document provides an overview of the doctrine of hamartiology, which is the study of sin. It defines sin as a transgression of God's law, a failure to conform to God's standard, and rebellion against God. Sin originated with Satan's pride and rebellion against God in heaven. It then spread to fallen angels and into humanity through Adam and Eve's choice to disobey God in the Garden of Eden. All people have sinned and fallen short of God's glory as a result of Adam and Eve's original sin.
