14 Learner Centered Principles My Insights
1. NATURE OF THE LEARNING PROCESS It is learning beyond of what the teachers
taught us or what we learn in school. Through experience and research we can basically get or learn new relevant information that can help us even in our daily lives. 2. GOALS OF THE LEARNING PROCESS Reaching goals. In this process it tells us how to set goals specifically of what courses we are taking now or setting goals for the things that you’ve working on. And that, this could fuel the one’s determination to be successful. It could also help you to think that everything you have working should not be wasted for such goal. 3. CONSTRUCTION OF KNOWLEDGE It is to link what you have learn from now to your pre-existing knowledge to that particular things. And that it makes you understand what is the meaning or message on that things or how do they work. 4. STRATEGIC THINKING Strategic thinking is very important specially for our living and also in different aspects. Having this as student, it will help me lessen stress or hardships as I could be able to find many ways to overcome and done things nicely and organized. That’s why we should be strategic thinker. 5. THINKING ABOUT THINKING For me, it is like checking a progress log book and looking for the next step on how to overcome it or thinking how/what ways do I have to do to pass the next step. 6. CONTEXT OF LEARNING This include the orientation like the week before the classes start. The way we act must be appropriate to our level and also knowing the capabilities of our mind. 7. MOTIVATIONAL AND EMOTIONAL What or how much the student learned could be INFLUENCES ON LEARNING based on how motivate he/she is and how eager his/her mind to learn. A student must be motivate positively and have the trust to themselves on becoming what have they desired of to become. 8. INTRINSIC MOTIVATION TO LEARN It is like choosing to become a teacher as I was curious and obsessed about teaching. It just feels like happy to share what we learn and educate people. And it is an example of intrinsic motivation. 9. EFFECTS OF MOTIVATION ON EFFORT It would be like being persistent and determined. You have the motivation but you don’t the determination then everything is nothing. When you working on a thing and you know that it makes you happy when you have it or when you become, it would be paid by great hard work and determination. 10. DEVELOPMENTAL INFLUENCES ON It is being happy when you working what you LEARNING desired of. Enjoying what you do. This is bringing all of yourself and become one as a solid breaks that ready and happy learn new things. 11. SOCIAL INFLUENCES ON LEARNING Social influences also very important. This will greatly challenge yourself because this phase include the competence, personal relationships etc. that could possibly bring negative impact to you as a student but somehow this would enhance your capabilities and knowledge. 12. INDIVIDUAL DIFFERENCES IN LEARNING It is like knowing everyone’s unique way of learning. Some will learn by studying every time and there are those students who are fast learners that even remember every words of the teachers from the discussion. There are also gifted individuals that are very talented and can even portrait through one seeing. 13. LEARNING AND DIVERSITY Example of it is having classes in a less noise and comfortable classroom. Settings must be consider especially in having a discussion. 14. STANDARDS AND ASSESSMENT This is the examinations, summative, and others ways for the teachers to assess their students if there is a progress; do they learn and how much they learn or what have they learn.
