We need to be sustainable

As the world progresses forward to a future where life might not be livable anymore if we
keep ignoring the fact that sustainability is something we need to take seriously and not just
ignore, most people even think that our energy sources are the biggest reason for CO2 is
emitted into our atmosphere.

We keep ignoring the fact that is we are not at all sustainable if we keep doing what we are
doing currently our world might not be livable for our children or grandchildren, so isn’t it
the time for us to change our habits so our world can once again be liveable for the next
generations.

But exactly what habits do we need to change what are the reasons for the CO2 emits into
the CO2? As some of you might have guessed our energy sources might not be all that
sustainable. We have been using the same energy sources for around 50 years and when
our technology is advancing how come our energy sources not?

Well, it’s not that we haven’t figure out new more efficient energy sources, but it cost the
government a lot of money to replace the energy sources. If we all got solar or wind energy
for free, then for sure everyone would use that, but we simply don’t have the fund for the
change at the current state of our society.

What else could we do you might be wondering? Well actually energy isn’t the biggest part
of CO2 emission out there, it’s animal agriculture. Animal agriculture covers 18% of all CO2
emission which means if we caught down in our supply of meat, we might spare some years
for the next generation to come.

Alright let’s see, I have watched a documentary called Cowspiracy which explains this topic
very well, they say that we eat around 8 ounces (226,8g) of meat every day if we get that
supply down to around 1 ounce (28,35g) a day we could get the animal agriculture down to
around 2.25% which would not just help our planet but also make us healthier in the
process so it’s a win-win situation.

If you’re not into animal agriculture or renewable energy, then you can also do a change for
example if you use public transportation it might be better for you and the environment to
just take the bike. Let us take me as an example I use just a bit under an hour to get to
school using public transportation but if I took the bicycle it would take me around the same
time and I would still benefit from it because it the long run I am getting healthier for every
kilometer I bicycle.

Just to ensure you guys this is not an essay about turning relatively normal people into
environmentalists it’s just to ensure a better future for not just mine but all of our children
and grandchildren the last thing you want to be remembered as is someone who destroyed
their planet and all livable life on it.

If we stop being selfish and realize we are not the only humans that are ever going to walk
on our planet we will then ensure a better future for everyone if it is animals or humans
shouldn’t matter, we are all here to stay and that is something we all want to make sure we
do.

Getting into the conclusion, we really need to start with getting a closer look into
sustainability not just in the themes I wrote about but all those who that emits CO2 into our
atmosphere. If it’s you me or our children, we all just want an adequate life with no life-
threatening problems in sight.

If we do that by getting more scientist into the field of CO2 emission or we just demonstrate
to our government to make the biggest step humanity has yet to see, a green future where
everyone can live not just us humans but animals, where we won’t be afraid of some ice
melting, so our homes get destroyed etc. If we all just take the step necessary to ensure a
better future together everything will then be a healthier alternative to the one, we are
living in currently.
