● Attempt all questions from Part I (Compulsory). A total of five questions are
to be attempted from Part II, two out of three questions from Section A and
three out of five questions from Section B.

Question 3

‘The Indian population depending on public health services is huge, especially in


the rural areas. This has put a lot of pressure on the hospitals catering to public.’
With reference to the above statement, answer the following questions.

2) Give two benefits and two drawbacks of public healthcare services. [4]
3) Enumerate how Kerala has achieved high standards of health services in the
country. [4]

Right to Information is an important tool to ensure transparency in the


operations of the government. In this context answer the following questions.

b) How does RTI work for the benefit of the citizens of the country? [3]
c) Explain four important features of RTI. [4]

Question 6

This period connects the modern period with the Ancient and is therefore known
as the Medieval period. Christianity, along with another religion, Islam, shaped
the political, cultural and economic activities of the time.

With reference to the above lines, answer the following:

2) Elaborate on any three impacts of Arabs on trade. [3]
3) State and elaborate on at least four features of art and architecture in
the Arab civilization. [4

Question 7

Mahmud of Ghazni’s campaigns were invariably launched in the hot summer


months and on each occasion, he would leave India before the onset of the
monsoon. This was done so that his troops would not be trapped by the flooded
rivers of Punjab.
