    Group 1 = One or more single core cables or insulated wires laid in ducts.

    Group 2 = Multicore cables in open air or in ventilated ducts.

    Group 3 = Single core cables in open air with spacing at least equal to cable diameter.

    In critical situations the DIN VDE recommendations should be considered.


    For industrial machines the DIN VDE 0113 part 1 (EN 60 204 part1 / IEC 204-1) is valid.
    For telephone aerial cables DIN VDE 0891 part 8 is valid. For flat cables DIN 0891 part 10 is valid.
    General terms and recommended values are contained in DIN VDE 0298 part 2 and part 4.
