A Study of Deforestation in India

This document discusses deforestation in India. It notes that deforestation has serious impacts on the environment and human life. Some key causes of deforestation in India include overgrazing, shifting cultivation, and fuel wood collection. Deforestation leads to issues like loss of topsoil, loss of food grains, increased flooding, and changes to local climates like higher temperatures. Deforestation is a major problem in India, with the country losing about 1.3 million hectares of forest area per year.

Assistant Professor, Department of Geography, Indira Gandhi University, Meerpur, Rewari, Haryana, India

ABSTRACT

Deforestation is major threat that affects the environment in the world. The deforestation make so many bad impact
on the earth, this may lead to the end of life in earth. There are some causes behind the deforestation. Here in this
study it deals with impacts and causes of deforestation.
