1) Remove Needle Plate first and set Needle Bars at the lower dead point by turning the Main Shaft manually.
[Note] For the cylinder type machines please lower the table.
2) Set the Needle Bar Lower Dead Point Gauge as illustrated below and loosen Needle Bar Connecting Stud
screw to adjust so that the bottom face of Needle Bar may be in contact with the Gauge.
[Note] Be sure to adjust Upper Dead Point Stoppers with the Main Shaft kept at the upper dead
point (0 degrees) afterwards.

2. Needle bar Connecting Stud Gauge
1) Set this Gauge as illustrated below to the Needle Bar, which is set by the Needle Bar Lower Dead Point Gauge.
Loosen the thumbscrew of the gauge this time and tighten the thumbscrew so that the gauge contacts with two
points of the Needle Bar securely.
2) Then using the gauge, adjust the height of the remaining Needle Bars, whose lower dead point is not adjusted yet, in
the same gauge.
[Note] This gauge setting can be applied only to the Needle Bars in a head. For adjusting the Needle Bars in other
heads, please repeat the procedure 1. Needle Bar Lower Dead Point Gauge in the previous page.

Tension Gauge.
2) For more details, please see TTD-97-1126 dated December, 1997.
[Application] In case when there is a gap in the up and down direction of Needle Bar case, this Eccentric Pin is used
to press the Part No.46 (Case Rail, Upper) and eliminate the gap. And when the Needle Bar Case does
not move smoothly, adjust the pressure of Eccentric Pin to the Part No.46 (Case Rail, Upper).

In this status, release the screw for the Collar
that fixes Needle Bar Cam and rotate only
the Needle Bar Cam without moving Main
Shaft.
1) Turn the Main Shaft to lower the Take-up Lever to the bottom position.
2) Fix the Gauge as shown in the Photo below.
3) Then, turn the Main Shaft clockwise and read the Main Shaft angle when the Pick Gauge indicator swings
by 0.1mm (10 divisions).
The actual timing is calculated by reducing 3 degrees from this value.
Example: If the Main Shaft angle is 295 degrees when the Gauge Indicator swings by
0.1mm (10 divisions), the actual Take-up Lever start timing is calculated as follows:
