Present Level of Academic Performance:

was assessed in the area of math by S. Camacho (09/28/20) using the

Woodcock-Johnson III Test of Achievement (WJR-III). On the Math Calculation Skills subtest,

scored a standard score (SS) of 87, which is approximately 8.6 years old, which is on

the lower end of the average range. On Math Reasoning, scored a 60 standard score,

which is well below the average range and approximately 5.11 years old. For Calculation,

scored a standard score of 83, which is slightly below the average range and
approximately 8.1 years old. In the area of Math Fluency, scored a standard score of

100, which is in the average range and approximately 9.9 years old. On the Applied Problems

subtest, scored a 53 standard score, which is well below the average range and

approximately 5.0 years old. Lastly, in the area of Quantitative Concepts, scored below

the average range with a 72 standard score, which is approximately 7.0 years old. In summary,

scored below average in four out of the six mathematical subtests, and scored within the

average range of two out of the six subtests. Overall, scored a standard score of 70 in

Broad Math, which is well below the average range with approximately a 7.0 year old age

equivalency.

“Welcome and . I am Siera Camacho, the special education teacher here at

Morenci [have others introduce themselves as well]. We are glad that you were both able to

come in and meet with us about . She is a wonderful student and she always has a smile

on her face. When I initially pulled her for testing, she had no problem coming with me, and she

actually remembered me since I had been in the classroom previously. was extremely

eager to participate and showed great positivity. In the assessment process for , I used

the Woodcock-Johnson III Test of Achievement, which is also known as the WJR-III. The WJR-

III assessment is meant to cover subjects such as math, writing, and reading. Before we begin, I

want to let you know that if you have any questions do not hesitate to ask them! We are going to

address the WJR standard scores, which we use to qualify a student for special education

services. The average range for these standard scores are 85 to 115; 85 is the low-end average,

while 115 is the high end of average. Any score below 85 is considered to be below average, and

any score above 115 is above average. First, we are going to focus on math, in the area of math
there are six different subtests. Within the area of math, scored an overall standard score

of 70 and an age equivalency of approximately 6 years and 10 months old. This means that

is performing well below the average range in the area of math. On the Math

Calculation Skills subtest, scored a standard score of 87, which is approximately 8 years

and 6 months old, which is on the lower end of the average range; this subtest focused on the

ability to calculate math problems while progressively becoming more difficult. On Math

Reasoning, scored a 60 standard score, which is well below the average range at

approximately 5 years 11 months old. This subtest measures ’s ability to use

mathematical symbols, understanding of number patterns and her ability to analyze and solve

problems. For Calculation, was assessed on her ability to correctly complete math

problems. On the Calculation subtest, scored a standard score of 83, which is slightly

below the average range and approximately 8 years and 1 month old. In the area of Math

Fluency, scored a standard score of 100, which is in the average range and

approximately 9 years and 9 months. Math Fluency assesses how many math problems

can correctly solve in 3 minutes. For Applied Problems, I assessed on her ability to

analyze and solve math problems. On the Applied Problems subtest, scored a 53

standard score, which is well below the average range and approximately 5 years old. Lastly, in

the area of Quantitative Concepts, scored below the average range with a 72 standard

score, which is approximately 7 year old. The Quantitative Concepts assessed ’s

understanding of number patterns and application of different math concepts. Overall,

scored below average in four out of the six mathematical subtests and within the average range

of two out of the six subtests. In the area of math based on the WJR-III, is currently

performing within the below average range.”
