I. PROGRAM PROFILE

Title “Provision of SIM- Strategic Intervention Materials to


Address Learning Gaps”

Rationale The Department of Education has an objective which is


“No learners will be left behind.” Because of this, the
Competency based Strategic Intervention Materials was said
to be the solution to the very poor performance of learners.

With the aim to improve teachers teaching knowledge,


skill, values and attitude in achieving quality performance
towards capturing the interest of the learners, San Agustin
Integrated School will be conducting SLAC Session on how
to develop a Strategic Intervention Materials in different
subjects with their least learned skills.

The Strategic Intervention Materials (SIM) is an


instructional material for remediation purposes. It is used to
develop the identified least mastered skills of the learners.
This will also serve as remediation for a particular
competency that they find difficult. Furthermore, this SLAC
session will focus on the planning and proper construction
of Strategic Intervention Material. In Addition, this session
will be based on lecture and hands on activities participated
by all teachers of San Agustin Integrated School.
