How relevant and applicable were the course First and foremost, I want to agree that the road to 21 st century
contents in helping you enhance your education is challenging due to the changes in our society,
competencies as 21st Century teacher?
technologies, economy, ecology, and politics. The journey may be
steep, but teachers are born ready to keep the generations
equipped. Hence, this course made me confidently accept my role
and responsibility in the community
What significant learning insights did you The activities we had helped me reassess not only my teaching
gain from the course? practices and techniques but also my readiness in teaching in the
21st century education. The module 1 taught and equipped us with
knowledge about the 21st century literacy skills, because only then
we can equip our learners with the said skills. By relearning the
pillars of learning as a 21 st century teacher, I was able to acquire the
necessary knowledge, skills, attitude, and values to be developed. I
have adjusted my learning activities as well to strengthen each pillar.
I have also applied more thorough the GRR Framework in the
teaching-learning process. Throughout the process, I am encouraged
to teach beyond what is stipulated in the curriculum guide. With the
help of our FTL, Doc. Eunice Atienza, and my colleagues in the
department, I was able to reevaluate myself being a subject matter
expert, classroom facilitator, and classroom manager. I am
motivated to explore new technological tools for my teaching
instructions. On the other hand, this course trained me to be
effective communicator to our students. And through making
classroom management plan, I will be able to promote better a
conducive learning environment that just and safe for everyone.
After the first and second module, it is clear to me what it takes to
be a teacher in the 21st century.
What challenges or difficulties did you Making time in reading and completing the activities
experience during the course?
What areas related to 21st Century teaching In this course, I especially reflected in two (2) things - how do I learn
and learning do you still need to improve on and how do I lead. I have to agree that at some point I teach the way
and why? I learn, which may not cater all the learning types of my diverse
learners. Now that we are in the 21 st century, where different
technologies are blooming, I have to consider that most learners are
technosavy. I also need to explore new technological tools to
maximize fun and engaging teaching-learning experience that are
focused on the students.
What can you say about your overall I am truly grateful for this learning experience. I honestly did not
experience (i.e. comment on chat, forum, expect this, but God might have known what I needed most. As a
course requirements, FLT competency, and beginning teacher with a year of teaching experience, I have learned
the online modality)? and reflected a lot from my Flexible Learning Tutor, Doc. Eunice
Atienzar. I hope I could also leave a remarkable legacy as her when I
retire. I hope I could also be someone who can inspire and motivate
learners and colleagues to push for themselves. Lastly, I hope I could
channel God as well in the lives of learners and the people around
me. I have also learned from my fellow co-teachers. Their shared
experiences and strategies during our synchronous session gave me
ideas in enhancing my attitude towards facilitating and managing
classroom. I have also realized that we are one in this endeavor. We
may be able to reecho this learning to our colleagues.
What are your other comments / suggestions Getting to the finish line of this course is something that I should be
for improving the content coverage and proud of. I may not be that equipped yet, but I will guarantee that
future course deliveries?
this journey will not go in vain. Thank you, SEAMEO INNOTECH and
DepEd for ensuring the competence of our teachers. May you can
scout more inspiring tutors to lead our way.
