ABSTRACT

The effect of having a higher number of males in the

classroom than females in G12 TVL (Technical-Vocational-
Livelihood) students has not been widely studied. However,
some possible effects include a potentially more competitive
and boisterous learning environment, which could lead to a
less inclusive and supportive atmosphere for female
students. Additionally, gender imbalances can affect the
representation and reinforcement of gender stereotypes,
potentially limiting female students' interest and
engagement in certain subjects or activities. It is important to
strive for gender balance in education to create an inclusive
and equitable learning environment for all students.

CHAPTER 1
INTRODUCTION

BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY

Gender roles are the Patterns of behaviors, attitude, and

expectations associated with a particular sex with being either male or
female, for clarity, physiology , sometimes distinguish Gender
Differences, which are related only to physiology and anatomy using
this terminology Gender matters in teaching more than sex ( in spirit of
any jokes told about the letter).
Although there are many expectations, Boy's and Girls do differ
on average in ways that parallel Conventional Gender sterio types
and that affects how the sexes behave at school and in class, the
differences have to do with physical behavior's, style of social
interaction, academic motivation's, behavior's, and choices. They
have a variety of sources primary parents, peers, and the media
Teachers are certainly not the primary cause of gender role
differences, but sometimes teacher's influence them by their responses
to and choices made on behalf of Students.
Physical Differences in gender roles, physically boys tend to be
more active than girls, and by the same token more restless if they
have to sit for long periods. They are also more prone than Girls to rely
on physical aggression if they are foustrated ( espelage 2 ,
Swearer,2004) Both Tendencies are inconsistent with the usual
Demands of classroom life of cause, and make it a little more likely that
school will be a difficult for being restless or aggressive During the first
two or three years of elementary school, grass motor skills develop at
almost the same average rate for boys and Girls as a Group, both
sexes can run, jump, throw, a ball and the like with about equal ease,
though there are of course, with significant Differences among
individuals of both sexes, towards the end of elementary school,
however, boys pull ahead of girls at these skills even though neither sex
has began yet to experience puberty.

1
Laiya Integrated National High School
Senior High School Department

The most likely reason is that boys participate more actively in formal
and in formal sports because of expectations and support from
parents,peerz,and society ( Branddock, Sukol, Kutz,Greeme, and
Basinger, Fleshchan,2005,messner, Duccan, & Cooky,2003) Puberty
eventually adds to this advantage by making boys taller and strong
than Girls, on average, and therefore more suited atleast for sport that
really on height and strength.
In thinking about the these difference, keep in mind that they
refer to average trend and that there are numerous individual
exceptions, every teachers know for individuals boys who are not
athletic, for example,or of particular Girls who are especially restless in
class, the individual difference mean, among other things, that it is
hard to justify providing different levels of support or resources to boys
than to girls for sports, athletics, or physical education. The difference
also suggest, through, that individuals students who contradict Gender
Sterio Types about physical abilities may benefit from emotional
support or information from teachers, simply because they may be less
likely than usual to act such information from elsewhere.

SCOPE AND LIMITATION OF THE STUDY

This study focused to determine the effects of having many boys

in the class than girls in Grade 12 TVL of Laiya Integrated National High
School in their academic performance of Grade 12 Obedience
students. This study assessed the effects of having many boys than girls
in the class San Juan Batangas in their academic performance of
L.I.N.H.S students for this S.Y. 2022-2023. The descriptive method of
research was utilized in this study research made questionnaire as the
main gathering instrument.

SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY

TO THE STUDENTS
This study will help to know that as a woman, we can still help,
even if there are more men in the school, because in our time, what
men can do, women can also do. In addition, there are also times
when women are better at men's work than men. My heart and mind
are eager to help in any aspect. Participating in school programs,
activities, organization, and volunteering or helping others even in
simple ways. Such as carrying things, cleaning, meeting together on
how to solve the school problems. It is not a hindrance to our women if
there we more men to help in our school.
3
Laiya Integrated National High School

TO THE TEACHERS
This study will help to know having more boys will help to improve
the school grounds and garden. The more men, the more people will
able to help to repair school properties like chairs and tables.

TO THE PARENTS
This study will help to know that there will be less for womes
because other work may go to men, especially if there are more of
them. It seems that if you use physical strength in the work, women will
not have such a hard time.

This study utilized the Input Process Output (IPO) by tyler which is
a functional model and conceptual schema of general system. An IPO
chart/identifies a programs input, its inputs, and the processing steps
required to transform the inputs in to outputs.
The conceptual models, which guides the researcher to
conduct the study, was depicted on paradigm. The input box
represents the common effects of the number of boys than number of
girls encounter in TVL Grade 12 student.
The process box reveal conduction of survey though the use of
questionaire effects of the greater number of boys than girls. While the
output box contains the proposal of educational for Grade 12 students
to improve their ability.
According to Bandura’s (1977) social learning theory, human
behavior is a function of the person plus the environment. In other
words, the person, the behavior, and the environmental situations are
highly interrelated. Each is capable of influencing the other. The theory
assumes that when two persons or groups interact, they become part
of each other’s environment. This means that school learning occurs as
a result of interactions of children and parents, children and teachers,
children and peers, and children and school environment. The theory
further holds that performance in school learning is traceable to
gender stereotype as it relates to the learners. This may be explained
on the ground that family and school interactions may influence the
child’s performance in school. Based on the assumption of the theory,
the social learning theory stipulates that academic dysfunction
sometimes arises from gender stereotype and location of the student.
This theory has a link with the present study as it has highlighted a link
between academic achievement and the students’ gender
stereotype.
Nithat may influence both academic performance and self-
concept with regard to teaching and learning in secondary schools.
The social learning initiated by Bandura (1977) argues that learning is a
product of the individual and the environment. This implies that the
interaction between a student and the learning environment
determines, to a certain extent, the performance of the student in a
given school subject. The environments include both the school
environment and the home environment, and other factors that are
within the environment such as stereotypic view, gender, location, and
individual’s self-concept.

CHAPTER 2
REVIEW OF RELATED LITERATURE

CONCEPTUAL LITERATURE

A literature review may consist of simple a summary of key

sources, but it usually has an organizational pattern and combines
both summary and synthesis, often within specific conceptual
categories. A summary is a recap of the important information of the
source, but a synthesis is a re-organization, or a reshuffling, of that
information in a way that informs how you are planning to investigate
a research problem. The analytical features of a literature review
might: give a new interpretation of old material or combine new with
old interpretations, trace the intellectual progression of the field,
including major debates, depending on the situation, evaluate the
sources and advise the reader on the most pertinent or relevant, or
usually in the conclusion of a literature review, identify where gaps exist
in how a problem has been researched to date.
Place each work in the context of its contribution to the
understanding of the research problem being studied, Describe the
relationship of each work to the others under consideration, Identify
new ways to interpret, and shed light on any gaps in previous research,
Resolve conflicts amongst seemingly contradictory previous studies,
Identify areas of prior scholarship to prevent duplication of effort, Point
the way in fulfilling a need for additional research, and Locate your
own research within the context of existing literature. All contect is from
The Literature Review created by Dr. Robert Larabee.
As Kennedy (2007) notes*, it is important to think of knowledge
in a given field as consisting of three layers. First, there are the primary
studies that researchers conduct and publish. Second are the reviews
of those studies that summarize and offer new interpretations built from
and often extending beyond the original studies. Third, there are the
perceptions, conclusions, opinion, and interpretations that are shared
informally that become part of the lore of field. In composing a
literature review, it is important to note that it is often this third layer of
knowledge that is cited as "true" even though it often has only a loose
relationship to the primary studies and secondary literature reviews.
8
Laiya Integrated National High School
Senior High School Department
Given this, while literature reviews are designed to provide an
overview and synthesis of pertinent sources you have explored, there
are several approaches to how they can be done, depending upon
the type of analysis underpinning your study. Listed below are
definitions of types of literature reviews:
This form examines literature selectively in order to support or
refute an argument, deeply imbedded assumption, or philosophical
problem already established in the literature. The purpose is to develop
a body of literature that establishes a contrarian viewpoint. Given the
value-laden nature of some social science research [e.g., educational
reform; immigration control], argumentative approaches to analyzing
the literature can be a legitimate and important form of discourse.
However, note that they can also introduce problems of bias when
they are used to to make summary claims of the sort found in
systematic reviews.
Considered a form of research that reviews, critiques, and
synthesizes representative literature on a topic in an integrated way
such that new frameworks and perspectives on the topic are
generated. The body of literature includes all studies that address
related or identical hypotheses. A well-done integrative review meets
the same standards as primary research in regard to clarity, rigor, and
replication.
Few things rest in isolation from historical precedent. Historical
reviews are focused on examining research throughout a period of
time, often starting with the first time an issue, concept, theory,
phenomena emerged in the literature, then tracing its evolution within
the scholarship of a discipline. The purpose is to place research in a
historical context to show familiarity with state-of-the-art developments
and to identify the likely directions for future research.
A review does not always focus on what someone said
[content], but how they said it [method of analysis]. This approach
provides a framework of understanding at different levels (i.e. those of
theory, substantive fields, research approaches and data collection
and analysis techniques), enables researchers to draw on a wide
variety of knowledge ranging from the conceptual level to practical
documents for use in fieldwork in the areas of ontological and
epistemological consideration, quantitative and qualitative
integration, sampling, interviewing, data collection and data analysis,
and helps highlight many ethical issues which we should be aware of
and consider as we go through our study.

RELATED STUDIES

Is composed of discussions of facts and principles to which the

present study is related. For instance, if the present study deals with
drug addiction, literature to be reviewed or surveyed should be
composed of materials that deal with drug addiction. These materials
are usually printed and found in books, encyclopedias, professional
journals, magazines, newspapers, and other publications. These
materials are classified as 1. Local, if printed in the Philippines; and 2.
Foreign, if printed in other lands. Studies, inquiries, or investigations
already conducted to which the present proposed study is relate or
has some bearing or similarity. They are usually unpublished materials
such as manuscripts, theses, and dissertations.
They may be classified as: 1. Local, if the inquiry was
conducted in the Philippines; and 2. Foreign, if conducted in foreign
lands. Importance, Purposes, and Functions of Related Literature and
Studies.
A survey or review of related literature and studies is very
important because such reviewed literature and studies serve as a
foundation of the proposed study. This is because related literature
and studies guide the researcher in pursuing his research venture.
Importance, Purposes, and Functions of Related Literature and Studies.
Reviewed literature and studies help or guide the researcher in the
following ways:
They help or guide the researcher in searching for or selecting
a better research problem or topic. By reviewing related materials, a
replication of a similar problem may be found better than the problem
already chosen. Replication is the study of research problem already
conducted but in another place. Importance, Purposes, and Functions
of Related studies.
They help the investigator understand his topic for research
better. Reviewing related literature and studies may clarify vague
points about his problem. Importance, Purposes, and Functions of
Related Literature and Studies.
They ensure that there will be no duplication of other studies.
There is duplication if an investigation already made is conducted
again in the same locale using practically the same respondents. This is
avoided if a survey of related literature and studies be made first.
Importance, Purposes, and Functions of Related Literature and Studies.

contributions of the study to fund of knowledge. Importance, Purposes,
and Functions of Related Literature and Studies.
Characteristics of Related Literature and Studies
There are certain characteristics of related materials that make
them of true value. Among these characteristics are:
The surveyed materials must be as recent as possible. This is
important because of the rapid social, economic, scientific, and
technological change. Findings several years ago may be of little
value today because of the fast changing life style of the people.

DATA ANALYSIS
To analyze the data the following will be used;

A. Graphs are a common method to usually illustrate relationship in the

data the purpose of the graph is to present data that are too
numerous complicated to be described adequately in the text and in
less space (slutsky,
2014).
B. Table are used to organize data that is too detailed or complicated
to be described adequately in the text. Allowing the readers to
quickly see the results. they can be used to highlight trend or patterns
in the data to make a munuscrip more readable by removing numeric
data from the text ( slutsky, 2014).
C. Mean is parameter that measures the central location of the
distribution of a random variable and is an important statistics that is
widely reported in scientific literature ( Davis, 2021 ). to calculate it , use
the given formula.
x - sample mean
