Program Policy - Interview Opportunities FSSD Bootcamp
1. Scope
The Program Policy-terms and conditions shall be applicable to all the learners of this Program.
a. Graduates from any stream of study or students in the final year of graduation can apply for the
Program. Every learner needs to have scored a minimum 50% (fifty percent) in 10th, 12th and
graduation (score up to the last semester if you are in your final year). However, such Student
learner in the final year, is required to have scored a minimum 50% (fifty percent) in graduation
before the completion of the Program to be eligible for the Program completion certificate.
b. The learner needs no prior coding skills to join the Program.
c. The learner must be proficient in spoken and written English as the medium of instruction is
English.
d. The learner should be able to dedicate 15-20 hours per week to this Program.
3. Career Services
Career Services would include but is not limited to access to job portal and placement support,
mock interviews, soft skills training, aptitude training etc.
To clarify,If the learner is seeking a refund for the Balance Amount at any time before the Cohort
Commencement Date under the One Time Payment option and has:
1. paid the full Balance Amount upfront, the learner can claim a refund of the Balance
Amount only before the Cohort Commencement Date; or
2. chosen to pay the Balance Amount through EMI payment via a third-party credit facility
provider, the learner will only receive a refund of the principal amount of the loan/actual
Balance Amount paid and will not receive a refund of any interest or processing fees
paid to the third-party credit facility provider. The learner is required to read the terms
and conditions of the third-party credit facility provider for more details including
cancellation and other charges levied by such third-party credit facility provider.
3. if the learner opts for a deferral, he/ she will be eligible to seek a refund of the Balance
Amount only until the Cohort Commencement Date of the deferred cohort i.e., the first
cohort you opted for.
c. Under the One Time Payment option, if the learner fails to complete the payment of the Balance
Amount via direct payment or fails to apply for a loan from a third-party credit facility provider
within 3 (three) days of payment of the Caution Amount or by the Cohort Commencement Date,
whichever is earlier, the offer letter will be rescinded, and the Caution Amount will not be
refunded.
d. The learner shall not be eligible for a refund of any amount paid towards the Total Program Fee, if
any discrepancy, including but not limited to wrong details about the grades or any other
incorrect information provided in the application, is identified at the time of Document
Verification Process or if the Document Verification Process is not completed by the learner. In
such cases, the learner’s admission may stand canceled at any time including during the duration
of the Program and/or the certificate relating to the Program will not be issued/ granted.
Further, the terms of the Interview Opportunity will not apply and the learner shall not have the
right to get an invitation for a job interview.
e. Except as per the terms provided in 4(II) below, the learner shall not be eligible for seeking refund
of any part of the Total Program Fee paid after the Cohort Commencement Date and if the
learner has availed a credit facility/ loan from a third-party credit facility provider, he/ she will
be unable to cancel their loan and will have to continue paying the EMI’s.
f. Refunds under this Refund Policy will be processed within 30 (thirty) business days upon approval
by the upGrad’s refund committee.
g. The above terms pertaining to refund are subject to the terms and conditions provided in the
Program Policy.
II. Refund terms in relation to Interview Opportunity during Career Services Period
a. The Caution Amount/ Upfront Amount is non-refundable under any circumstances. This is the
processing fee charged for enrolment into the Program.
Subject to Point No. c. below, if the learner has opted for One Time Payment option and does
not receive an invitation to interview for a qualified work opportunity in any company including
but not limited to a full-time role in another company, internal transition to a tech role in your
current organization, contractual roles for a period of 6 (six) months or above (hereinafter
referred to as ‘Qualifying Position’), through the Program or outside of the Program during the
Career Services Period, after successful completion of the Program and participating in the
Mandatory Career Service Requirements (as defined below), the learner will not be eligible for a
refund of any of the Balance Amount paid towards the Total Program Fee, by upGrad. In such a
case, the learner has to attend the remedial sessions as part of the career phase until a
maximum of 15 interviews are attended through upGrad.
A learner who has opted for One Time Payment option will not be eligible for any refund and
upGrad’s obligations under the Program shall be deemed fulfilled under any of the following
circumstances, if the learner:
A. Fails to complete the Program within stipulated duration and/ or fails to successfully
complete the Program.
B. Is a Student and fails to complete his/ her graduation successfully or share the graduation
certificate with a minimum of 50% marks before Program completion.
C. Fails to complete the mandatory career service requirements (hereinafter referred to as
‘Mandatory Career Service Requirements’) as mentioned below within pre-defined timelines
mentioned in the student manual:
i. Attend 80% (eighty percent) of the live classes and 90% (ninety percent) of self learning
content on learning platform.
ii. Submit all assessments and projects on time and score a minimum 60% (sixty percent).
iii. Successfully clear the job readiness test and mid course assessment tests.
iv. The learner is required to participate in the Career Services Period within 15 (fifteen)
days of commencement of the Career Services Period.
v. Complete all mock interviews and training sessions assigned by the career service
advisors/ coach.
vi. Attend all events including but not limited to meetups, conferences, seminars,
networking events, hackathons, workshops, job fairs, or other options approved by the
career service advisors/ coach. Collaborate with the career service advisors/ coach to
create a personalized job search plan approved by the career service advisors/ coach.
vii. Take guidance from the career service advisors/ coach and follow their
recommendations on the job search strategy including but not limited to building a
network and applying for job types that are a good fit.
D. Fails to participate in Career Services Period within 15 (fifteen) days of unlocking the
certificate/Program completion (including adherence to Clause C. iv., v. and vi. in the
Mandatory Career Services Requirements).
E. Drops/ opts out of or does not complete Mandatory Career Service Requirements and/ or
takes another job outside the job offers/ opportunities/ openings provided by the career
services team under the Program or decides to pursue other endeavours. e.g., if the learner
freelances or changes the job searching strategy either during the Program or during the
Career Services Period.
F. Reschedules/ cancels a call within less than 24 (twenty four) hours’ notice with a career
service coach/ advisor or mock interviewer for 2 (two) or more times during the Career
Services Period.
G. Fails to communicate within 48 hours to the career services coach/ advisor of any requests
for interviews or job offers/ opportunities that the learner has received, or his/ her decision
to pursue other endeavours.
H. Fails to show up for the interview process with prospective employer/ does not respond to
prospective employer communication within 2 (two) days.
I. Commits unscrupulous acts during the application process and during the term of the
Program including but not limited to plagiarism, falsifying documents, non-disclosure of job
offer within 72 hours received outside the purview of the Program and the Interview
Opportunity provided in the Career Services Period.
J. Fails to provide documents to the prospective employer for their verification.
K. Fails to accept a job offer for Qualifying Position within 12 (twelve) months from the Cohort
Commencement Date, for any reason whatsoever including and not limited to location,
salary bracket, work timings, working hours, etc. Once the learner receives an offer from a
prospective employer, regardless of whether he/ she accepts/rejects any job offer, the job
assurance will be considered as fulfilled.
L. Has invalid work authorization under applicable laws of the land.
M. Displays unprofessional behavior that violates the prospective employer’s company code.
N. Submits any information, either in the resume or in the career services surveys, which is
found to be untrue.
O. Fails the background check as per prospective employer’s policy.
b. Refunds under this Clause 4(II) will be processed within 30 (thirty) business days upon approval
by the upGrad refund committee.
c. Caution Amount/ Upfront Amount are non-refundable under any circumstances. This is the
processing fee charged for enrolment into the Program.
Notes:
1) In case the learner fails to comply with the T&C’s such failure will release upGrad from its
interview opportunity obligations under the offer letter and the learner would waive his/ her right
to receive a refund or avail of any benefit under this scheme. In such a case, in no event, shall
upGrad be liable to the learner or any third party for any refund of the Balance Amount or
damages. upGrad’s decision shall be final with respect to the determination of compliance or
breach (including sufficiency) by the learner of any of the terms mentioned in this document.
For the One Time Payment payment option, upGrad’s obligation to find the learner an interview
opportunity under this Program will end with the first job offer that the learner receives (through
or outside this Program).
5. Deferral Policy
a. If the learner, due to unavoidable circumstances is unable to commence with the cohort before
the Cohort Commencement Date or is facing severe issues in dedicating time to the Program or
has medical issues after the Cohort Commencement Date, request for a deferral, we provide an
opportunity to defer the enrolment to another cohort. However, after deferment the course
progress will not be captured in the new cohort and the learner will have to start from scratch.
The enrolment to another cohort will be subject to the approval of the deferral committee.
b. A learner will be allowed 1 (one) deferral on a non-chargeable basis after his/ her enrolment into
the Program. After 1 (one) deferral, the learner will be required to pay a deferral fee that is 10%
(ten percent) of the Total Program Fee each time he/ she defers.
c. To apply for deferral, the learner must raise a request through his/ her customer support
manager stating the specific reason for deferral.
d. The deferral request will be put up before the deferral committee for approval only after the
deferral fee, if applicable, is paid within 7 (seven) days of the deferral request (including holidays
and weekends). Till this payment is completed, the learner will be assumed to be continuing in
the same cohort.
e. In case of cohort change/ deferral, the content, pattern, days and timings of the changed/
deferred cohort may be different from the current cohort and upGrad does not guarantee the
same cohort timings/ schedule/ pattern.
f. The entire learning progress could be reset when a learner defers to a future batch. Learner will
be starting their course fresh in case of a deferral.
This offer letter and Program Policy shall in all respects be governed by and construed in
accordance with the Laws of India. Any dispute arising out of or in relation to or in connection with
this Program Policy shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Mumbai.
FAQs
Entry criteria:
1. What is the prerequisite to join the program?- You can only pursue the program if you are a
final-year graduate student (any discipline- MTech/BSc IT/MSc IT/BTech/BCA/MCA among other
streams). You need to have scored 50% in 10th, 12th and graduation (score up to the last semester if
you are in your final year). A tech background is highly preferred.
2. Will I be able to do this program if I have a non-coding background?- Yes, you will be able to
successfully complete this program irrespective of your educational or professional background. All
you need is to dedicate your time and efforts to this program—attend live sessions, complete the
assignments on time to name a few. Please read the T&C carefully.
3. Does non-tech experience count as work experience?- Yes, any form of work experience, irrespective
of the roles you are currently in, will be considered as work experience.
4. What kind of jobs can I expect as a working professional from non-technical backgrounds?- The
program will train you to apply for roles like Software Engineer, UI Developer, Frontend Developer,
Full Stack Developer, Backend Developer, etc. That said, the outcome entirely depends on the time
you dedicate to this course.
5. What is the format of the qualifying test?- The qualifying test will check your logical reasoning and
English language skills (as the mode of instruction is in English).
6. What if I fail the entry test?- Not to worry. You have one more chance to reappear for the entry test.
7. What is the medium of instruction? - Medium of instruction and program delivery is 100% English
and we expect candidates to know English as a mandatory language to apply for the program.
8. Can someone who has a gap after graduation and doesn’t have a job at present, apply to the
program? - Yes, you can still apply for the program.
9. What if I do not have an Indian government identity proof? - At the time of admission, having an
Indian government identity is mandatory.
10. Do we need to have a laptop for taking up the course? - Yes, you need to have a laptop to attend the
sessions and continue their learning. Laptop should have a minimum 8 GB RAM and be running
Windows 10 or above for the best learning experience. Learners using a MacBook are recommended
to have Big Sur or higher and MacBook 2020 or higher models.
1. How many live sessions do I have to attend?- There would be live sessions conducted on the
weekends. To successfully complete the program, you need to attend at least 80% of these sessions.
2. Do I have the option to fast-track this program?- We want all our learners to pursue the curriculum
we have designed for you to gain an entry into the world of full stack development. There are no
shortcuts to this program.
3. Can I opt for a job by myself?- upGrad’s programs are recognized by the industry. You surely can
apply to any company by creating an impressive resume with industry projects.
4. Do I need to sign any documents for getting a job?- You just need to go through our T&C and accept
it to be eligible for placements.
5. What is the passing/ grading criteria? - You should score a minimum of 60% in the overall program.
6. Will I receive the certificate after program completion?- Yes, you will receive the program completion
certificate considering that the exit criteria is met by you as per policy.
7. Do I have to take the first job I am offered? - No. But our obligation to get an invitation to interview
under this Program will end with the first job offer you receive.
8. The course hours do not work for me. Can I attend classes in my own time? - No. It is mandatory for
students to attend lectures as per defined program schedule. You are required to maintain 80%
attendance for all live deliverables (namely live sessions, mentorship calls etc).
9. What if I receive an offer letter from a company I don’t want to join?- We are committed to getting
the best companies for you. However, if you turn down the job offer or any interview, as per the
Program Policy, you will not be eligible for any refund and will be liable to pay the entire course
fee/EMI payments.
Pricing:
1. Can I get any special discount for this program?- We are offering you this program at competitive
rates. Hence, we are not offering any discounts, however, we have a lot of financing options to
support you to do this program.
2. What financing options do I have?- We have EMI options with financial institutions for flexible
tenures.
3. What are the documents required for opting for an EMI?- Each credit facility provider would have a
different set of documentation requirements for the EMI. upGrad SPOC will guide you through the
admission process.
4. Are there interest or processing fee charges on EMI?- The user will have to bear standard charges as
applicable as per chosen credit facility provider’s policy.
5. What is your refund policy?- Please go through the detailed refund policy with applicable T&C.
6. Is there any down payment to block the seat? Yes, you need to pay a block amount (Caution
Amount) to confirm your enrollment in the Program.

● The Guaranteed Interview Opportunity Program provides prospective learners from partner
companies with a clear path to earn an interview. Each company requires that learners complete the
program requirements outlined by upGrad.
● Prospective learners that have met the criteria will be provided an opportunity to interview with the
partner companies.
● Qualified learners should be contacted by upGrad's placement team during the 6th month or within
six months following successful program completion.
