One Friday, Charlie looked out of his bedroom window and saw something on the
grass. It was a small brown rabbit with a white tail. Charlie ran outside to look at it.
The rabbit looked sad. Charlie said to his father, ‘What’s the matter with it?’ ‘It can’t
hop because its leg hurts,’ said his father. He picked it up carefully and carried it
inside the house.

They took the rabbit to the basement because it was quiet there. The rabbit was
tired and slept all night. On Saturday morning, the rabbit’s leg was fine. ‘I’ve got a
pet now,’ Charlie said. ‘No, this rabbit lives outside,’ his father said. They went to the
countryside, put the rabbit down and watched it run quickly to the trees.
‘Would you like to go to the pet shop now?’ said Charlie’s father. ‘Yes please!’ Charlie
shouted.
