Task Requirements

Imagine you are a team of engineers in an IIoT solutions provider company. Design
an IIoT solution to improve the healthcare supply chain to sell to a potential client.

Technical Requirements

Your solution should be in the form of a technical proposal. It should minimally

include the following information:

Introduction
 Objectives
 Problem Statement
o You may select multiple areas for improvement, for example,
productivity, cost, sustainability, accountability, safety, etc.
 Stakeholders and their respective roles
o Your solution should have a notable improvement for stakeholder(s).
o A stakeholder refers to an individual, group, or organisation, who may
affect, be affected by, or perceive itself to be affected by a decision,
activity, or outcome of a project. Examples of stakeholders can include
individuals (patients, doctors, employees, etc) or organisations
(hospitals, clinics, manufacturers, logistics partners, Ministry of Health,
etc).
 Benefits to stakeholder(s)
 Proposed solution

System Design
 IIoT application process description
 IIoT system architecture
 Raw data to be collected in the robot application you have proposed
 Potential data analysis and follow-up control actions
 Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) features incorporated
into the system

Design Considerations
 List and describe all components used (e.g. type of sensor, type of
communications, robot, IIoT platform, ML model, etc)
 Design and selection criteria for all components used
 Rationale for design, selection and logic of process flow, including any
assumptions made

 If robots are used:

o Type of robot used, work space/envelope of the robot, payload, work
pieces/items handled, etc.
o End-effector design (e.g. vacuum, mechanical grippers, etc. or any
other mechanism)
o Calculations should be included to illustrate proper engineering design
in items pick-up/handling
o Estimated payload with calculations to support the correct selection of
end-effectors

Benefits and Challenges

 Potential benefits (including OEE and ROI) of implementing the proposed IIoT
robotic solution
 Potential challenges in implementation

Conclusion
 Summarise project
 Good to suggest recommendations for improvement

References
 Include all references used in the project

Assessment Criteria

You will be graded based on the following criteria:

 Technical criteria
o Comprehensiveness of technical coverage and technical rigour
o Formatting and use of correct technical terms
o Quality of problem definition and depth of analysis of project
 Presentation criteria
o Clear articulation of proposed solution
o Clarity of presentation
 Individual contribution to project

is to be submitted on SA2.0 (email submissions will not be accepted):

1. Team Project Report

 Use the following report template

2. Team Project Presentation

 Time limit for presentation: 12 to 18 minutes
 You will be graded based on the submitted work in SA2.0
 After submission, you may make minor improvements to your slides,
but there should not be additional content that has not been included in
your submitted project report
3. Team Flyer
 Design a publicity flyer to sell your proposed solution
 Remember that your target audience is your potential client
o Flyer should have sufficient information to entice potential clients
o Flyer should be easily understandable by your potential client,
who is not an expert in IIoT
 Flyer specifications
o Size: A4
o 1 page only
o Content should be easily readable in the specified size

 Open the following file in Adobe Acrobat Reader and fill in the form

o
5. Peer Evaluation

On Week 13, on your lesson day, you will present your project twice to 2
assessors. All members are expected to be present. The schedule will be released
separately.
