FORMAT FOR PROJECT REPORT 2022-23


(The report should be with Black (FS) / Brown (SS) book hard binding)
TYEE(Electrical Engineering)
Project Report Preparation Guidelines and Contents:
Comprehensive report preparation about the project is the requisite for every student. The format for the
report is prescribed below. It is important that you adhere to these guidelines.
1. ARRANGEMENT OF CONTENTS:
The sequence in which the project report material should be arranged and bound should be as follows:
 Title page (with name of team member and mentor teacher)
 Certificate
 Sponsor’s Certificate / Completion Certificate (if applicable)
 Achievement / Participation Certificate(s) (If applicable)
 Acknowledgment
 Abstract (in one paragraph not more than 150 words)
 Table of contents
 Index of Figures & Index of Tables (if applicable)
 Chapter 1 to 9: (As preared)
 Appendix (if any)
 References/ Bibliography
 Published/Presented Papers
2. Chapters – The chapters may be broadly divided as below :
1. Chapter- 1. Introduction (Introduction and background of the industry or user based problem
2. Chapter- 2. Literatute Survey ( to finalise and define the problem statement )
i)Existing System
ii)Proposed System
3. Scope of the project
4. Methodology
5. Project Design,working and process
6. Testing. Result and application
7. Costing of the project (– detailed calculations)
8. Conclusion and feature scope.
9. Referances and Bibliography

3. PAGE DIMENSION AND BINDING SPECIFICATIONS:

The dimension of the project report should be in A4 size. One copy of the report should be submitted to
department and each Project Group members shall have a copy.

4. PREPARATION FORMAT:

4.1 Title Page- A specimen copy of the Title page is given in Appendix 1a.
4.2 General Instructions for preparing the report contents.

Paper Size : A- 4 size bond paper only.

Left : 1.50”(compulsory)
Right : 1”
b. Line Spacing : 1.15 line
c. Title of Chapter
Font: Times New Roman (Bold face), Size: 16 point
Alignment: Left Alignment
One thick Horizonalline (2¼ point weight) after the name of chapter
d. Headings
First Order Heading: (Example – 1. INTRODUCTION)
Font: Times New Roman (Bold Face)
Size: 14 point
One blank line before the heading (12 points)

Second Order Heading: (for example – 1.1. Evolution)


Font: Times New Roman ( Bold Face)
Size: 14 point
One blank line before the heading (12 points)

Third Order Heading: (for example – 1.1.1. Clustering)


Font: Times New Roman (Bold Face)
Size: 14 point
One blank line before the heading (12 points)

Figure Caption must be below the figure and centered, Table caption must
be above the table and centered with sub topic numbering.
(Eg: fig:1.2.1 Class Diagram of AutomatedNavigation System below the
figure)
(Eg: Table:1.2.3 Student Information  above the table )

7. Page Numbering (Centered)


Title page, Table of Content, Figure Index, Table Index: Roman (I, II,III etc.)
For Remaining Pages (i.e. from ABSTRACT -to- BIBLIOGRAPHY) : 1, 2, 3 ……

8. Page Border
 Don’t apply any type of Border or Page Border for any page.
 Don’t add any page (blank or Title of Chapter) between two chapters.
 Index, List of figures & List of Tables must be justified.

9. References / Bibliography
 The listing of references should be typed 2 spaces below the heading REFERENCES” in
alphabetical order in single spacing justified alignment.
 Should be numbered consecutively in square [] brackets, throughout the text and should be
collected together in the reference list at the end of your report.
 The references should be numbered in the order they are used in the text. The name of the
author/authors should be immediately followed by the year and other details.
 URL must be in Italics.
 E. g for references for
