Artificial Intelligence
(1) What is artificial intelligence?

Artificial intelligence is the simulation of human intelligence processes by machines,

especially computer systems. Specific applications of AI include expert systems, natural
language processing, speech recognition and machine vision.

(2) What types of artificial intelligence are there?

They divide into three main types based on the capabilities they possess:

Artificial Narrow Intelligence (ANI): ANI refers to AI systems that can perform a specific
task or set of tasks with a high level of proficiency. These systems are designed to excel in a
particular domain, such as language translation, image recognition, or playing chess. They
are limited to the tasks they were specifically designed for and cannot perform tasks outside
of their designated domain.

Artificial General Intelligence (AGI): AGI refers to AI systems that can perform any
intellectual task that a human being can do. AGI is often described as the ability of an AI
system to understand or learn any intellectual task that a human being can do. It is still a
hypothetical concept and has not been fully realized yet.

Artificial Super Intelligence (ASI): ASI refers to AI systems that can surpass human
intelligence in all cognitive tasks. This is also a hypothetical concept, but it is often
associated with the idea of a technological singularity, where AI systems become self-
improving and lead to an exponential increase in intelligence, potentially leading to a
fundamental transformation of society.

(3) Name and explain at least two things that are used in modern society that are
based on artificial intelligence.

Digital assistants
Like Apple’s Siri, and Amazon’s Alexa, help users perform various tasks, from checking
something on the web, to sending commands to another app. AI is important for these apps
to work because they learn from every single user interaction. This allows them to better
recognize speech patterns and serve users results that fit their preferences.

Send an email or message

Every day most of us will send an email (or several). Tools such as Grammarly and spell
check activate when you compose your email to help you draft messages free from errors.
These tools use artificial intelligence and natural language processing. On the receiving end
of your messages, spam filters use artificial intelligence to either block emails that are

suspected as spam or identify an email as something your recipient would like to receive in
their inbox.

(4) What is CHATGPT?

Chat GPT is an AI chatbot auto-generative system created by Open AI for online customer
care. It is a pre-trained generative chat, which makes use of (NLP) Natural Language
Processing. The source of its data is textbooks, websites, and various articles, which it uses
to model its own language for responding to human interaction.

(5) Write a 150 word proposal on how the school can use CATGPT in the learning
process?

CATGPT, or Conversational AI Text-based General Purpose Transformer, is a state-of-the-

art artificial intelligence model that can generate human-like responses to text based
prompts. There are several ways in which schools can use CATGPT in the learning process:

Firstly, CATGPT can be used to support students' learning by providing them with
personalized feedback on their written work. This could involve students submitting their
writing assignments to CATGPT for analysis, which would then generate feedback on areas
such as grammar, vocabulary, and style.

Secondly, CATGPT can be used to create interactive chatbots that can help students with
their homework or provide them with additional resources and support. For example, a
chatbot could be designed to answer questions about a particular topic, provide examples of
relevant content, or give feedback on practice exercises.

In conclusion, the use of CATGPT in the learning process has the potential to enhance
students' engagement, learning outcomes, and language proficiency, and is worth exploring
further as a tool for educational innovation.
