QUESTION 1
• Write an essay of between 150 and 200 words in length (about ONE page) on
ONE of the following topics.
• Write down the NUMBER and TITLE of the essay you have chosen, for example
1.1 I own my future.
• Give your own title if your choice is QUESTION 1.2, 1.7.1 OR 1.7.2.
• Spend approximately 80 minutes on this section.
NOTE: The words given in the topic MUST be included somewhere in your

2.1 DIALOGUE
You have decided to stop using a cellphone until you have completed your
final examination. However, your friend does not agree with your decision.
Write the dialogue that takes place between you and your friend.
Your neighbour constantly plays music very loudly. His/Her actions are a
disturbance to you and your family.
You have witnessed an incident of bullying at your school. Your principal has
requested that you write a report on what you saw.
2.4 OBITUARY
Your favourite aunt has passed away. Your family has asked that you write an
obituary, paying tribute to her.

Your class has decided to honour a teacher at your school by hosting a party
on the last day of the school term. The party will be held in your classroom.
You have been asked to design a special invitation card for your teacher.
Write out TWO diary entries, expressing your feelings BEFORE and AFTER
