Performance Task # 2 in Basic Calculus 4th Quarter 30 April 2021

I. Use the SUBSTITUTION method ONLY to evaluate the integral of the

following. No other method will be accepted. Follow the procedure:
a) Make the 𝑢-substitution to stand for some expression in 𝑥 that is chosen.
b) Transform the integral by differentiating 𝑢 in terms of 𝑥.
c) Evaluate the transformed integral with the transformed limits (𝑛𝑒𝑤
𝑎 & 𝑏). Five (5) points each.

II. Find the area of the region/s bounded by the curves in each of the
following by integrating the difference between the upper curve and the
lower curve from 𝑎 to 𝑏. Recall: 𝑎 & 𝑏 are the limits of integration. They are
the points of intersection of the graphs. Ten (10) points each.
5. Find the area of the region bounded by the curves:
𝑦 = 𝑥3 − 6𝑥2 + 8𝑥 and 𝑦 = 𝑥2 − 4𝑥. Add 𝑹𝟏& 𝑹𝟐.
