LESSON PROPER
Procedure Activities
To check learners’ previous knowledge, the teacher will ask few
questions by answering true or false. Raise your hands to be
recognize.
Say TRUE if the statement is correct and FALSE if it is not
correct.

A picture puzzle activity is introduced. The teacher prepared four
envelopes. Inside the envelopes are pictures they are going to form.
The class will be divided into four group and they will select a
representative to present the photo in front and describe what
happen.
They are given three minutes to do the activity and two minutes for
the presentation. (Pictures are shown below.)

News and GMA News TV downloaded from the internet.
With the same groupings, each group will be given 1 question to
answer.
The following questions are:
1. What is the news all about?
Explain
2. Describe what happen in the news.
3. What terms in the headline will describe how strong is
the earthquake?
4. What is magnitude? What is intensity?
The teacher will discuss briefly the definition of magnitude and
intensity.
For enjoyable learning, the teacher will assign the class into three
groups. They will arrange the strips with description to its correct
intensity and magnitude scale.
Elaborate
The first group will arrange Mercalli scale, second group is Richter
scale, and the las group will arrange PHIVOLCS scale.
Ask one member of the group to present their output. Their answer
will be corrected once the teacher starts explaining the intensity and
magnitude scale.
