ASSIGNMENT 3
Based on the case study 1, the journalist do the right things in writing the article. This
is because he act as in order with the core ethical values citizenship, as a journalist he is entitled
to cooperate with the public law in enforcing the law to prevent corruption to happen. He also
make the right choice in publishing the article as this protect the safety and rights of other
people from being take advantage of a corrupt personnel. This could protect the working
environment and help to prevent and warn the others to stay away from the act of corruption.
Moreover, he hold the trustworthiness values as, he honest and doesn’t want to deceive and
have his own integrity in doing his work. While the employee should have and apply the core
values of responsibilities in himself as he should be honest in doing his works while serving
the public people. When he involves himself with the corruption act, he should be held
accountable with his words, actions and attitudes. Next, he should always think before the act
and always consider the consequences he will face. If he is more self-disciplined This will not
happen. He needs to take the proper responsibility, facing the public criticism and
unemployment situation for the time being.

Based on the situation in case study 4, the institutional investigation side should have the
respect values towards the researcher as they should respect her decision to not doing the
experiments again to prove herself. This is because the truth is not yet confirmed as they are
no evidence of misconduct of fabrication. Then, their decision to retract the breakthrough
article have damaged the researcher’s career and reputation which give the trouble to the person.
They also should have made the decision thoroughly after contacting the researcher and be
more considerate towards the researcher’s feelings. Both sides should hold the responsibility
values and consider the consequences for their further action. The institutional personnel
should have self-restraint even though pursuing excellence towards experiment’s breakthrough.
Also they could be more perseverance and keep trying to persuade the researcher to conduct
the experiment again before taking further action. While the researcher should hold
responsibility for her action on not performing the experiment again as this will give the other
people misunderstandings for her action. She should consider the consequences of her action
for not being cooperative with the institutional personnel. As a researcher she also needs to
embed the trustworthiness value as she should be more honest and have integrity in doing her
work and prove her innocence immediately.
