    Software Upgrade Instructions

    DESCRIPTION:

    Software Upgrade to Windows 10 for TQ Printer

    SITE VISIT PREPARATION:

    • Ensure that the Windows 10 License Sticker part number 03232085-01 is ordered FOC and is
    available to attach to the PC. Do not proceed without the licence.
    • Ensure that the System Disk has been downloaded from the Software Download Centre and
    burnt to a Dual Layer DVD
    • Ensure that the latest Software has been downloaded and either saved to a USB Flash drive or
    burnt to a DVD.

    TOOLS NEEDED:

    • USB DVD Drive


    • USB Flash Drive (May not be allowed on site)
    • Allen Keys
    • Calibration board and stencil
    • Paste for calibration
    • MAC/SAC Board

    ENABLING THE DIGITAL WORLD

    PREPARATION
    1. Run the SAC test (SPC)

    2. Backup E:\ drive using a suitable removable media, eg a USB Flash Drive, remembering to remove
    it afterwards. Ensure the flash drive is scanned for viruses on your laptop before installing the new
    software.

    3. Remove any required panels.

    4. Plug in the USB DVD Drive.

    DETAILS OF CHANGE
    1. Close the DEK software.

    2. Insert the Q170 Windows 10 System Disk into the external DVD drive.

    3. Turn the Machine power OFF.

    4. Turn Machine ON to automatically run the Windows 10 installation.

    5. Click the box as shown below.

    6. Enter the machine serial number and the password (F1ducial) and select Full to wipe all the drives.
    Ensure that all config and product files were backed up before continuing and select OK on the pop
    up.

    7. The Windows 10 image will be applied to the C:\ drive. The D:\ and E:\ drives will also be wiped.
    (This can take around 15 mins to complete).

    8. If at any point the mouse is clicked, the process may pause. This can be seen by the presence of
    the word Select at the top left of the window. If this happens press enter to continue the imaging.

    9. Once the image has been applied to the C:\ drive, the CD will be ejected, and the PC will reboot
    several times while it is being configured. When the PC boots to the desktop, insert the software CD
    or USB flash drive

    10. Check the system time, date and zone, if not correct, click on the clock and time icon in the lower
    right-hand side of the screen and select Date and Time Settings. Change Set Time Automatically to
    Off and select Change under Change date and time to set the appropriate date and time.

    11. On the start menu open file explorer (or use windows + e shortcut).

    12. Copy the files you backed up onto the suitable removeable media, eg USB flash drive earlier back
    onto the E:\ drive.

    13. Select DVD drive in file explorer and run Setup.exe.

    14. The Printer Installation dialog will be shown, click Next.

    Accept the license agreement and click Next.

    15. Click Install.

    Select Close to exit the installer.

    16. The printer software can now be started via the “Printer Software” shortcut on the desktop.

    17. Initialise the machine.

    18. Attach the Windows 10 License sticker (03232085-01) on the PC next to existing sticker as shown
    below.

    19. Enter Calibrations (Menu->Service->Calibrations) and perform the following calibrations in the order
    below:

    • Camera Reference Position


    • Stencil Load Offset
    • Vision Scale and Theta
    • Vision Offset

    20. Run the SAC test (SPC)

    CLOSURE
    1. Remove the software CD and USB DVD Drive.

    2. Refit the panels.

    3. Ensure that the License sticker is attached onto the PC.
