Effects of Global Warming In The Past 10 Years

Over the past ten years, the environment and human culture have
experienced substantial effects of global warming, the gradual rise in the Earth's
average surface temperature. Due to the fact that the most recent ten years (2010–
2019) were the warmest on record, immediate action is required to solve this
problem.
Temperature increases are one of the most noticeable symptoms of global
warming. There have been increased heatwaves, droughts, and wildfires as a result
of the rise in the average world temperature. These occurrences have had a
disastrous impact on agriculture, resulting in crop failures and a lack of food. They
also have harmful effects on people's health, causing heat-related illnesses and
fatalities. Furthermore, as a result of some species' inability to adapt to the changing
environment, the rise in temperature has also resulted in a loss of biodiversity.
The melting of ice is an important consequence of global warming. Sea levels
are increasing because of the glaciers and sea ice in the Arctic melting rapidly. Low-
lying areas, islands, and coastal cities are all at risk of floods and erosion because of
this. As the food web's equilibrium is upset and many species' habitats are impacted,
the melting of the ice also has a cascading effect on the ecosystem. As a result of
global warming, extreme weather events have also increased in frequency and
severity. The destructiveness of hurricanes, floods, and tornadoes has increased,
leading to greater widespread destruction, displaced populations, and fatalities. Due
to their potential to interfere with power, communications, and transportation
infrastructure, these occurrences have a huge economic impact. Changes in
precipitation patterns brought on by global warming have also resulted in more
frequent droughts and floods in some regions. Food and water shortages may result
from these changes' severe effects on agricultural and water supplies.
Ocean acidification, which can kill marine life and disturb ocean ecosystems,
is another effect of global warming. In addition, higher temperatures are forcing the
permafrost in the Arctic to thaw, which increases the warming effect by releasing
massive volumes of methane, a strong greenhouse gas, into the atmosphere.
Action must be taken right away to combat global warming and its
consequences. This entails cutting greenhouse gas emissions, putting money into
renewable energy sources, and putting laws in place to adjust to a changing climate.
Future repercussions will be more severe and disastrous if nothing is done.
In conclusion, throughout the past ten years, global warming has had a
profound influence on the environment and human society. The repercussions of
global warming are extensive and catastrophic, ranging from rising temperatures and
melting ice to severe weather events and altered precipitation patterns. To solve this
problem and stop future damage to our planet and its inhabitants, we must act right
away.
