a) Progress in life depends upon

crossing one threshold after
another.
(b) We can accomplish the most
difficult tasks by trying to
overcome it.

our path, we should not complain
and should accept the challenge.

3. (a) Adversity brings out the best in man

Adversity Shapes Success

An old age proverb 'Adversity brings
out the best in man' means that
struggles bring out and polish the best
qualities within man. It shapes man
and lends meaning to their lives. It
reveals those innate virtues that have
been lying hidden within. It fills one
with knowledge, confidence and
courage.

Adverse circumstances are a part and

parcel of life. Those who are not
challenged or are at peace are not
living. Life is all about facing and
overcoming all obstacles and harships.
First like ships that are safe at their
harbours but still go out to struggle
across the dangerous oceans, man also
has to face problems to reach their
destinations. The difficult journeys are
essential to realise ones true potential.
Human history is full of such examples
of good men who reached success after
a lot of suffering.

Adversity is that part of life that seems

to us ugly and painful but in reality is
as precious as a jewel.
(b) The Value of Friendship

Everyone needs special people to

laugh, share secrets and celebrate life
with. Some of these special people are
our friends, a gift that we give to
ourselves and the first relations we
form ourself.
Friendship a Gift for Life
Friendship is a precious gift. It binds
us to some people who stay by our side
at all times, even during the weakest
and darkest moments. These people
become our trustworthy confidence and
companion. They empower us to live
our best in every moment of everyday.•

They build our confidence and

motivate us to work harder. Friendship
brings an opportunity to love, to learn
about ourself, to mature and to open
up to the full experience of life.
Friendship is one of the best presents
that life bestows on us. So when we
find it, hold onto it, nurture it and
value it.
(c) The Role of Students in Bringing about a Welcome change in Our Environment

Awareness among
students. Students are the citizens of
the future. They form the most
powerful stratum of the society who
understand the current condition of
our environment. They know the
importance of preserving the nature
and hold the power to bring about a
welcome change in our environment.
Students' Role in Environment
Change
As the citizens of tomorrow, students
are aware of the need of protecting the
environment. Not only can they
promote it but also can effectively
implement the strategies aimed at it.
Starting by changing their habits like
walking or cycling to school, planting
trees and interacting with others. They
can encourage others to promote
conservation. In fact, they have come
up with various means and technologies
that prevent further damage.
Understanding such a role, there is a
need to involve students in programs
and initiatives that focus on bringing
the desired change in our environment.
(d) Every Dark Cloud has a Silver Lining
The above proverb, Every dark cloud
has a silver lining is very well known,
which means that we should never
lose confidence as better days won't be
far behind. Our difficulties,
misfortunes and problems are like dark
clouds. They lead us to the worst of
times and takes away all our
happiness. However, if we look closely
we could see the sun shining like silver
at the edges of a cloud.
The silver lining presents us with a
hope for progress and solution. It
brings an opportunity to go ahead.

T
Therefore we must not lose hope and
blame our destiny. We must wait for
the true time to come.
life is a mixture of light and dark
phases. Each one of us has to
experience the dark sides of life. One
must remember that things would
change soon and develop positive
attitude towards life. Hard work is the
price that we pay for success and all
gifts of life. We should be focused,
determined and accept every failure
wholeheartedly since failures are the
stones to success.

Subject Nuisance of Loud Speaker

Sir

Through this letter, I would like to draw

the attention of the concerned authorities and the people at large towards the problem of
noise pollution that is persistent in the area.
The unrestricted use of loudspeakers is
increasing day by day. Though the
people are aware of the prohibitory ban
of loud music between 10:00 pm to 6:00
am, loudspeakers are indiscriminately
used.

As a result, the residents of the area do

not get peaceful sleep. Of all the worst
affected are students who cannot
complete or concentrate on their
studies. The residents have repeatedly
requested the organisers but all in vain.
It seems that the request has fallen on
deaf ears as the unethical use of
loudspeakers still continues. I, therefore
request you to strictly implement of the
prohibitory ban of loudspeakers and
also take action against the violators,
The residents of the locality will be very
grateful to you for this act.

Thanking you

Yours sincerely
XYZ
