PASTORAL REFLECTIONS Ephesians 4:3-6

Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all. Here, the Apostle Paul tells us what makes us great as a church of Jesus Christ. Our oneness and our closeness through Christ has been our goal during this 125th anniversary year. Our mission trips to Mexico and Alaska brought about a real bonding of being His servants. Our actual celebration on April 30th and May 1st brought us closer together through the programs and our historical booklet, His Story of Parkesburg Baptist Church!

We continue to keep growing closer in Jesus as we seek to be a vital and growing congregation in our envision conference on September 23rd & 24th. Our goal is to bring all of Gods people together on October 16th with Point of Grace and Bob Lenz. Lest we forget we need to pray for the enemies that existed after 9/11/01 as we remember the Tenth anniversary on Sunday 9/11/11. ONE As the soot and dirt and ash rained down, we became one color. As we carried each other down the stairs of the burning building, we became one class. As we lit candles of waiting and hope, we became one generation. As the firefighters and police officers fought their way into the inferno, we became one gender. As we fell to our knees in prayer for strength, we became one faith. As we whispered or shouted words of encouragement, we spoke one language. As we gave our blood in lines a mile long, we became one body. As we mourned together the great loss, we became one family. As we cried tears of grief and loss, we became one soul. As we retell with pride of the sacrifice of heroes, we become one people. We are one color, one class, one generation, one gender, one faith, one language, one body, one family, one soul, one people. We are the power of one. We are united. We are America. Yours and His,

SPECIAL ACKNOWLEDGMENTS Thank youDear Parkesburg Baptist Church, Thank you so much for my graduation gift bag. I apologize for not being able to attend promotion Sunday, but I had to work. Thank you for thinking of me on this special day. Rachael Young. Dear church family, I just wanted to say thank you to everyone that helped me move to my new home. If it wasnt for your help, I would still be trapped in an abusive marriage instead of free to live my life as I want and deserve. I am so glad that I found Parkesburg Baptist Church. Sincerely, Kim Bunting
CONGRATULATIONS TO TINA MYERS From The American Cancer Society Kimberly Brydges, Income Development representative, East Central Division Hey Everyone, I just wanted to take a moment to recognize Tina Myers, our wonderful registration chair, who has been chosen by the Southeast Region Board of Directors to receive a 2011 Volunteer Achievement Award!!! ********** MISSION PROJECT

The Bible talks about how we need to enter the mission field. It is not talking about all of us becoming missionaries, but the ministry we enter into in our own mission field of life every day. Parkesburg Baptist Church is adopting a night at the Parkesburg Point. We along with other churches in our community we will come alongside the Point and be in ministry together. What this involves is providing a meal for 50 to 70 youth and adults each night, giving a 30 minute devotional, spending time with the youth, and most important of all praying. Starting September 20th we will be adopting the 3rd Tuesday of each month as the Parkesburg Baptist Night at the Point. Rusty Hertzler will be heading this up. Anyone interested in helping cook a meal or volunteering their time can contact him. Together lets strengthen our local mission and grow as brothers and sisters in Christ. Please sign up for donations and help at the Crane Hall kitchen. ************* AN INVITATION TO: Scriptures Interpreted Through Floral Designs: Presented by: Ronda Stauffer Oberholtzer at Tel Hai Chapel, Honey Brook, Pa. PRESS RELEASE 10 16 11
CELEBRATION AND CHALLENGE Parkesburg Baptist Church, 103 West Street, Parkesburg, PA. concluding its 125th Anniversary Celebration, along with the Central Union Association of American Baptist Churches, will host a special event of celebration and challenge. Point of Grace, the internationally known musical group of three beautiful ladies - Shelley Breen, Leigh Cappillino, and Denise Jones, along with the internationally known speaker, Bob Lenz, will provide an afternoon of music and inspiration at Octorara High School auditorium, 228 Highland Avenue, Atglen, PA. 19310 on October 16, 2011, from 3 6 PM. MUSICAL CELEBRATION Point of Grace is three women who have a deep faith in Jesus and love of country, and are very family-oriented. While they are proud and extremely grateful for their impressive success and lasting careers, they are first and foremost simply three women who are trying to live their lives right, be good wives, and raise their children the best they can. While remaining true to their contemporary Christian roots, Point of Grace is now poised to reach a new audience with their new album, No Changin' Us, allowing the female trio to share their message of love and positivity with more people than ever, and we are excited to have them. SPIRITUAL INSPIRATION Author and international speaker, Bob Lenz, has an intense passion to share the love of Christ. Whether for an audience of 10 or 10,000, Bob connects with the hearts and minds of youth like no other speaker can. He shares experiences that help youth of all ages deal with real life while igniting their faith, instilling hope and challenging them to make a difference in their world, and we are thrilled to have him.
