Design Thinking Example

The document outlines the steps of design thinking: Empathy, Define, Ideate, Prototype, and Test. It provides examples of how to apply each step to develop educational materials and solutions for specific learning needs. In the Numeracy example, the steps are followed to create a multiplication song prototype to help grade 3 students master multiplication tables. Each step is described in 1-2 sentences. Empathy involves understanding the users' needs. Define gains insights into the problem. Ideate generates possible solutions. Prototype builds the sample material. Test obtains feedback to evaluate the solution.

Design Thinking

Steps:

Example: Numeracy
Step 1: Empathy Map

Part of researching pupil’s background and to discover
their learning needs. Pwede po itong presented as a map, gaya po ng sample.)
(This is another way of presenting the Empathy map, naka table po)
Step 2: Define (Point of View Template)
Then,
gagawin po yung problem statement.)
Step 3: Ideate
multiplication rhymes and chants at games and activities.
See example above.)

Multiplication Fact Song

• Empathize-We identify our user/ learner and

• the problem that need to be addressed
• Define-We gained insights based on the learners needs which is a grade 3
learner who has a difficulty in mastering multiplication table
• Ideate: after brainstorming, we came up with different solutions such as using
song as a tool of learning
• Prototype: We created prototype of multiplication song
• Test-We sent the video to the parent and tested if it really works
• Feedback -
Step 4: Prototype

Multiplication Fact Songs

Step 5: Test and Feedback

Thinking. You may use one to two sentences to describe what has been undertaken in
each step.)
Project: Multiplication Fact song
• Empathize-We identify our user/ learner and the problem that need to be
addressed
• Define-We gained insights based on the learners needs which is
a grade 3 learner who has a difficulty in mastering multiplication table
• Ideate: after brainstorming, we came up with different solutions such as
using song as a tool of learning
• Prototype: We created prototype of multiplication song
• Test-We sent the video to the parent and tested if it really works
• Feedback
Example: Literacy
Empathy Map
Sa part pong ito need na
gumawa ng Sketch kung
paano po po ma uutilize
yung prototype material
Ninyo about DOLCH
sight words.

Example po ito ng DOLCH sight

words na kayo po ang gagawa
aligned po ito sa basic sentence
pattern, kapag ginawan po ng
prototype video ay maari pong
nakabased dito ang presentation
ng words. Bukod po sa video, maari
din po na may ganitong material na
nakatable para may guide po ang
pupils sa paggawa ng sentence.

Example: Your friend is brave.

Example: His dog is sweet.
