2.2. Electrical ramp control system
Electrical diagram for the ramp opening/closing control
system is shown on fig.4.
Power to the ramp control system can be supplied from:
- From helico pter rectifiers with opera ting onboard
generators;
- From helicopter rectifiers when three -phase AC power
200V, 400 Hz external power source is connected.
Opening/closing of the ramp can be perfo rmed from two
workstations:
- From the cockpit by " CLOSING - OFF- OPENING " PNG -
15K (3/77) mo mentary switch located at the cockpit
door opening on RH side (fig.7).
- From the c argo cabin by "CLOSING - OFF- OPENING"
momentary switch of PNG-15K type (4/77, fig.4) on the
ramp control p anel (fig.5) m ounted between frames 13
and 14 on RH side.
Ramp opening/closing switches mounted in the cockpit
door opening and ramp control panel in the cargo cabin
have caps with pro tective latc hes preventi ng
inadvertent activation.
Switching betw een control p oints can be done by "RAMP
CNTL CREW CARGO CABIN " switch (2/77) of PPG-15K-2s type
located on th e center pede stal in the cockpit (see
fig.6). Annunciators (1) located near se lector switch

Ramp control panel in the cargo cabin a ccommodates an
NP 27 switch (3, fig.5), which ensures standby pump
interlocking while the hand pump is in use , and
annunciators (1) indicating normal oper ation of the
pump, ramp po sition and br acing wires a vailability.
Serviceability of annunciators (1) is c hecked by means
of button (4) "LAMP TEST" mounted on the panel.
Relays (28/77 and 10/77) used for checking annunciators
are located on the center pedestal and on the ramp
panel in the cargo panel respectively.
The other commutation relays and co ntrol syste m
contactors are located in the “ramp JB ” on cargo cabin
ceiling between frames №11 and 12.
In initial status the ramp is closed and restrained by
locks. "РАМПА/RAMP" CB (1/77)on RH CB panel is opened.
"RAMP C NTL. CARGO. CABIN. - CREW " switch (2/77) is in
"CREW" position.
With closed AZSGK -5 "RAMP" CB (1/77) the 27V power is
supplied to "PWR" annunciato r (31/77),then to windings
of relays (5/77 and 11/77),which will close normally
opened contacts and prep are co ntrol and warnin g
circuits for operation and via ramp position micro
switches (9/77 and 15/77) - to "СLOSED" annunciator
(33/77).
If bracing wires were installed, "BRACING WIRES"
annunciator (32/77) will light up (powered via
activated micro switches 8/ 77 and 14/77). Activation of
"BRACING WIRES" annunciator confirms that opening of
the ramp is limited to horizontal position only.
Without bracing wires the « BRACING WIRES» annunciator
does not light up and the ramp is opened completely.
ATTENTION. IT I S N OT ALLOWED TO OPEN THE RAMP WITHOUT
BRACING WIRES IN FLIGHT.

3.1. Opening the ramp from the cockpit
To open the ramp set "RAMP CLOSING OPE NING" switch
(3/77) in the cockpit door opening to O PENING position
and hold in this position - the helic opter primary
power is supplied via contacts 1-2 of relay (12/77) to
the winding of relay (26/77), via contacts 3-2 of relay
(11/77), MST-120 pressure switch (20/77) contacts,
contacts of relay (43/77) to the wind ing of relay
(34/77).
Relay (26/77) actuates and supplies power via its
contacts "2 - 1" from the channel 2 of rectifier bus
to NP 27TM standby pump (36/77) which will start
building up pressure in the ramp hydraulic system. When
pressure in hydraulic system reaches 30 kgf/cm2, MST-30A
pressure swi tch (23/77) operates and activate s
“РАБОТА/OPER” annunciator (37/77).
At the same ti me via contact s "5 - 6" of relay (34/77)
power is supp lied to GA -163T/16 distributor (39/77)
that ensures opening of th e ramp locks . The hydrauli c
rod (5, fig.2) moves insid e and takes t he lever (11)
from the secto r section (22). The locks s tart opening ,
micro switches (7)(9/77 and 15/77) are a ctivated and
RAMP СLOSED (33/77) annunciator goes out . When the
locks are com pletely opened micro switch es (8)(25/77,
29/77) are activated . Their combined signal opens ГА-
163Т/16 distributor (40/77)of ramp hydraulic cylinder
control system.
When the ramp reaches horizontal position micro switch
(7/77) located under cockpit floor on fr.13 is
activated causing RAMP OPENED annunc iator (38/77) to
light up.
Micro switch ( 7/77) remains closed when th e ramp moves
from horizontal to fully opened position (if no bracing
wires are installed). When the ramp reac hes a stop of
the bracing wires or extreme lower position pressure

inside the hydraulic system starts growing. When
pressure in hy draulic system reaches 120 kgf/cm2, MST -
120 pressure s witch (20/77) opens its cont acts and de -
energizes the winding of relay ( 34/77),which causes
deactivation of hydra ulic pumps (36/77) and
distributors (39/77 and 40/77), and disappearance of
OPER annunciator (37/77). RAMP OPENED annunciato r
(38/77) is still on.
Set RAMP CLOSING OPENING selector switch (3/77) to OFF.
Opening of the ramp without bracing wires in flight can
be electrically blocked by relay (11/77). In flight the
winding of relay 12/77 is de -energized (see Diagram
8AMT.7200.052E3) and power to the ramp o pening/closing
circuit will be supplied only via contacts 2-3 of relay
(11/77) – its winding is powered via micro switches
(8/77, 14/77) that close t heir contacts when bracing
wires are installed.
DAY/NIGHT mode of annunciators is selected by 62/77
selector switch on the central pedestal (2, Fig.6).
3.2. Closing the ramp from the cockpit
ATTENTION. BEFORE CLOSIN G THE RAMP Y OU SHOULD
MAKE SURE THAT:
1 THERE IS NO FOREIGN OBJECTS BETWEEN
FRAME 13 OF THE CARGO CABIN FLOOR AND
RAMP DIAPHRAGM.
2 THERE IS NO CHANCE TIE-DOWN RINGS

close its contacts "1 - 2" causing activation o f
standby hydraulic pump (36/77), relay (22/77) operates
and actuates di stributors (39/77 and 40/77) ensuring
closing of the locks and ramp closing.
When pressure in hydraulic system reach es 30 kgf/cm2,
MST-30A pressure switch (23/77) operates and via closed
contacts of micro switches (9/77 and 15/77) activates
“РАБОТА/OPER” annunciator (37/77). The ram p will start
closing.
On its way up the ramp pass es level position and micro
switch (7/77) operates. The lever (18, fig.2) moves
along the lift cum (20) and micro switch (16) opens its
contacts causing RAMP OPEN annunciator (38/77) to
disappear.
When closing of the ramp is almost completed the micro
switch (13/77) activates an d switches th e distributor
of the shackles (39/77) for closing. The hydraulic rod
(5, fig.2) moves outside , roller of the lever (11) of
the micro switch (7) moves on sector section (22) and
causes the adjustment screw attached on the lever to
press the rod of micro switch (7). Tension shackles of
the ramp are closing. This causes activ ation of micr o
switches (9/77 and 15/77) and via their closed contacts
"СLOSED" annunciator (33/77) lights up while
"OPERATION" annunciator (37/77) goes off . At this
moment the de-energized winding of relay (30/77) via
its opened contacts 2-3 will de-energize the winding of
relay (27/77) and via cont acts 4-5 - the winding of
relay (22/77). Relay (22/77) will switch off the
hydraulic pump (36/77), and relay (27/77) –
distributors (39/77, 40/77). " CLOSED" annunciator
(33/77) will still be on.

connects the pressure line Д with the pressure side of
the ramp.
2.4. 661400 Sa fety valve is designed for h ydraulic system
protection from overpressurisation. 661400 Safety valve
consists of the shell, valve, piston, spacer, support
and adjustment screw instal led in the ho using made of
aluminum alloy. At pressure boost in hyd raulic system
over allowed limit the val e opens and releases the
pressure into a drain (tank).
2.5. Two 8D2.966.015 -2(8Д2.966.015-2) hydraulic filters
designed for operational fluid clar ification are
installed in hydraulic system of the ramp. Filter
(fig.8) consists of the filter bowl (1) and cover (3).

inside the filtering bowl (1) through the inlet
connection, circular clearance between the cutoff valve
(7), seating ( 11) and fixing slot of filt ering element
(2). After f iltering the operational fl uid gets into
cavity (Б) and flows out thought the outlet connection.
When the filter is clogged, when the pressure
differential at the filtering element increases up to
7+2-1 kgf/cm2, the cut off valve (7) opens up and
operational fluid gets directly inside the cavity (Б)
through the circular clearance between the valve and
flange of the filtering element, passing the filtering
element.
To remove filt ering element (2) for cleani ng screw out

2.7. GА163T/16 (ГА163T/16) Distributors (6, 20) are
designed for operational fluid control: to hydraulic
power cylinder (12, 15) of ramp opening/closing and
cylinders (2, 3) of the tension shackles.
GА163T/16 (ГА163T/16) Distributor (fig.9) is a three-
position solenoid valve with two solenoid valve
controls. Two identical valve control mechanism are
installed in the common housing. Both controls have
common pressure line – pressure connection I and common
drain connection IV. Solenoid windings of distribution
valves are connected to the plug connector. When
contacts are off the sharp edge of slide valve (10) is
pressed by spring (37) to the taper surface of the
barrel (33). In this case the connection I is closed,
connections II and III are connected with the
connection IV. When power is supplied to pin (2) of the
plug connector (29), the solenoid plunger (27) moves
the sliding valve (10) to its left-moist position
through the push bar (11). The sharp edge of the
sliding valve (10) is pressed to the taper surface of
the seating (5) and connects the connection I to the
connection II. When contact 3 operates the second
distributor actuates. Actuation of the distributor in
the same manner as described above. At that the
connection I is connected with the connection III. For
manual control the pressing lever (2 see fig.10) is
installed on the distributor (6) (see fig.1).
2.8. GA-111/ГА-111 hydraulic lock ( 15, fi g.2) is used to
lock operating fluid in the upper chamber of actuating
cylinders (12, 15, fig.1) when there is no press ure in
pressure line. HL (fig.11 ) consists of th e housing (3)
with the fol lowing components installed inside it:
Piston (7), se ating (4), val ve (5), spring (9), spring
(2) and chok e nut (1). Thermal rel ief valve i s

installed inside of the valve (5). Thermal relief valve
consists of the ball (12), valve cage (13), valve stem
guide (11), screw cap (14), lifter (10), spring (6) and
nut ( 8). Pis ton seal is p rovided by the sealing ring
and Fluor plastic washers. Seating sealing is provided
by one sealing ring. Sealin g of the choke nut with the
housing is p erformed by the rubber r ing and Fluo r
plastic washer. Operational fluid, sup plied to the
connection (Б, fig.11) overcomes the spring (2) force
presses out the valve (5) and flows into the ramp
cylinders (12, 15 fig.1) through the connection (A).
At operational fluid cutoff into connection (Б, fig.10)
the valve (5) is pressed by the actio n of the spring
(2) to the seating (4) and locks operational fluid in
the cylinders (12, 15 fig.1).
In case of pressure increase (due to temperature
changes) in the ramp cylinders the ball (12) is
depressed and excess pressure is bled. Whe n operational
fluid is supp lied to the connection (B) the piston
moves to the left, opens the valve (5) and operational
liquid is dra ined from the ramp cylinde rs through th e
connection (B).
2.9. 992AT -2 Valves (10, 1 8 fig. 1) are designed to
provide for o pening/closing of the ramp in case of
improper oper ation/failure of the hyd raulic system .
992АТ-5 Valve (fig.12 ) consists of the housing (10),
rod (13) with the valve handle (10), valve (2), sleeve
(4), collar nut (9), washers (7, 8, and 1 1) and rubber
rings (5, 15). The r ing (6) provides for locking of the
housing (1) and collar nut (9). At rot ation of the
valve handle (10) in eithe r direction t he rod (13)
moves the valve (2) inside the sleeve (4) by means of
threaded pair couple. The valve (2) moves and closes or
opens th e control port in the housing and connects or
disconnects the pipelines of the ramp hydraulic system.

2.10. 600400М Drain valve (26, fig.1) is designed for АМГ-
10 oil draini ng from the h ydraulic tank of the ramp
hydraulic system. The valve is connected wi th the
hydraulic tank by means of t aper thread.
Drain valve ( fig.13) consis ts of the hou sing (4), nut
(2), and valve with rod (5), fixed in opened position
by the plunge r (3), and pr essed into th e valve rod,
pullback spring (8) and blank (7). Rubber seal ( 9) is
vulcanized into the valve rod. Air tightness of the
connections is provided by the rubber rings (6, 10).
3. OPERATION
When power is supplied to the electric actuator of
НП27ТМ (25, fig.1) standby hydraulic pump the pump
starts building up pressure in the hydraulic system and
operational fluid is supplied to ГА-163Т/16
(6, 20) distributors through the filter (22). The
distributors control the tension shackles (2, 3) and
hydraulic cylinders of the ramp opening/closing (12,
15). At the same time power is supplied to ГА-163Т/16
(6) distributor which contr ols operational fluid flow
to cylinders (2, 3) and ensures opening of the tension
shackles. When the shackles are fully op ened th e power
is supplied to ГА-163Т/16 (20) distributor and
operational fl uid is suppli ed to the cyl inders of the
ramp (12, 15) and their rods put the ramp down. When
the ramp touches the stop (which corresponds to maximum
ramp opening) the pressure in the ramp hydraulics rises
and the operational fluid pressure switch switches of
the pump station.
When the pump station is t urned off ope rational fluid
in locked up inside the cavities of the hydraulic
cylinders (12, 15) that open the ramp by the hydraulic
lock (9) that allows locking the ramp in opened
position.

pressure switch indicates that pressure is available in
the system (pumping station is activated), МСТ-120 (16)
serves for deactivation of the station when the ramp is
opened.
For ramp cl osing the p ower is sup plied to th e
electrical act uator of НП27ТМ pump station and to ГА-
163Т/16 (20) distributor. Pressurized operational fluid
is supplied to cylinders (12, 15) and the ramp closes.
When the ramp is fully closed the power is supplied to
ГА-163Т/16 (6) distributor and operational fluid is
supplied to the cylinders of the ramp (2, 3) and
tension shackles lock up, pump station switches off.
