    Nothing Else Matters

    Nothing Else Matters is a song written by vocalist and guitarist James Hetfield of the band

    Metallica released in 1991. One of the most important and immortal hits of this band and by fans

    of the genre. The power that this melody evokes and transmits to the listeners is undoubtedly

    poetic.

    Nothing Else Matters by Metallica, in my personal interpretation, talks about the importance of

    trusting the loved ones, and that the most important thing is to do what one enjoys, and that what

    other people think is irrelevant as long as one is happy with oneself. The video, in its original

    version, shows and shares video clips throughout the recording of the song, moments and

    experiences between the members of the band and their collaborators, demonstrating the

    importance of mutual coexistence, how valuable the moments and the brotherhood between them

    are.

    On the other hand, we have the version by Miley Cyrus feat. WATT, Elton John, Yo-Yo Ma,

    Robert Trujillo, Chad Smith released as part of the tribute album "The Metallica Blacklist 2021",

    an album in which different artists join to pay tribute to this album also known as "The Black

    Album" from 1991, as an illustration of the influence and reach that this same album had on

    many musicians of different genres.


    In this version performed by Miley Cyrus, you can feel how Cyrus keeps the same rhythm, tone,

    and syntony of the original song, as she even tries to integrate her own style, and give it an even

    stronger power due to the great power and reach that her voice manifests. In the video of this

    version, you can see different scenarios that mark the trajectory of the video. The video shows a

    man in the middle of the desert, who is in search of something important, you can see that the

    man is constantly looking at his pocket clock as if he is in a hurry. During his search, he finds

    several clocks on his way, however, they are not what he expected them to be, until finally, he

    finds it, the right one arrives just before sunset, and you can see the tranquility and satisfaction

    once he gets there. This video demonstrates the importance of one of the most valuable things in

    our life, and that never returns, which is the importance of " time" itself, and how many times we

    make mistakes, but how in the end we will always find the right way to the things that are

    important.

    Nothing Else Matters is a highly acclaimed song by the public and cannot be missed in any of

    their shows, and even currently there is a recent version with the voices of James Hetfield and

    Miley Cyrus. The purpose of both versions is to demonstrate freedom, acceptance, the

    importance of time and the value of the moments we share with people or things that really

    matter or are worthwhile in life.
