After attending SLB Day, I was immediately drawn to the innovative direction that SLB was taking to
deviate from unsustainable energy consumption methods that is prominent today. I am writing this letter
to express my interest in the Technology internship position advertised during the presentation at JW
Marriott during SLB Day. As a mechanical engineer sophomore at TAMUQ, the accumulation of my
technical and soft skills fulfills the requirement for the Technology internship.
My passion and experience align well with the Technology Internship program at Schlumberger. I was
always interested in engineering innovation, especially that which related to energy. Living in the 21 st
Century it has been my goal to help society resolve the non-renewable energy alternatives that would help
decrease the effects of fossil fuels on the environment. Additionally, during my time as an undergraduate
student at TAMUQ, I was able to work closely with the industry such as Schlumberger and Qatar
Airways which gave me insight on the challenges the world is currently facing. Through course work and
student organizations, I have honed my leadership, problem-solving and communication skills. Over the
summer, I was a research assistant at Texas A&M University under Dr. Reza Avamohammadi where I
was responsible for investigating the capabilities of artificial intelligence detecting heart diseases. I faced
new challenges head on and unlocked new programming skills in artificial intelligence such as creatively
structuring methods to find a way to scan and detect heart diseases through the ECGs produced. These are
keyways I dominated the challenges I faced which I think are one of the most sought out characteristics
for the Technology internship.
Regarding my soft skills, I have had the opportunity to develop and strengthen the ones that are already in
my arsenal by being a board member for Student Government Association and the American Society of
Mechanical Engineers. As secretary of ASME, I assisted with event logistics and student-industry
engagement initiatives at Texas A&M University at Qatar, gaining valuable leadership and
communication skills. Our hard work was recognized when we were awarded the Best Student
Organization by TAMUQ. These experiences have contributed to my personal and professional growth
and have equipped me with a diverse set of soft skills that I can bring to any setting.
As a Technology Intern at Schlumberger, I am excited to collaborate with a team of experts and develop
practical solutions to industry challenges. I am particularly interested in the Engineering and
Manufacturing teams, and I am excited to explore opportunities in these areas. I believe that this
experience will not only help me grow professionally but also provide valuable contributions to the
company. Please feel free to contact me via email at muhammad.hanif@qatar.tamu.edu if you have any
questions or would like to connect further.
Sincerely,
Muhammad Hanif
