“CODCAST: Critique on Demand Podcast”

CONTEXT/SITUATION
The COVID-19 pandemic has brought many changes in our lives including in
education. Education in the Philippines shifted from traditional in-person classes to modular,
online, and blended learning. Before the pandemic hit, you have already finished your
discussion about writing critique using structuralist and formalist approach. Now, you
received a chat from your English teacher on Messenger. You are given instructions on how
you can make the most out of your time while at home by doing meaningful activities related in
school. Your teacher would like to assess if you can learn on your own, with peers, or with the
guidance of your teacher in a blended mode of learning. You will read a story, write a critique
using structuralist and formalist approach on the story, and present your critique in a
vodcast. After your task is completed, you will have a self and peer evaluation.

TASK/CHALLENGE

You are tasked to WRITE CRITIQUE USING STRUCTURALIST AND FORMALIST

APPROACH on the story A Worn Path by Eudora Welty. Your critique will not be written or
printed. You will present your critique in a VODCAST. The vodcast should consist of 2
episodes, 1st episode is for structuralist and 2nd episode is for formalist approach. You will
work in groups; each group should have at least 5 members. You may download the story from
this link: https://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/1941/02/a-worn-path/376236/

The independent critique and vodcast of the group will be graded separately. Be guided by the
rubrics provided below. Deadline is on April 17, 2023
