My Motivation:
There is no limit to educate yourself and you can never say that, I have
completed my education. Because every day new inventions are taking place
around the globe and to compete with the world you have to educate yourself every
new day. This is what I thought about research and education. I loved to play with
Motors, LED’s, batteries and gadgets like that from my childhood. And this
becomes my motivation to start Electrical Engineering.
Academic Background;
I am Abdul Qadeer from Pakistan. I am a well-motivated student of
engineering, and have many new ideas are based on ensuring the positive results of
selected jobs. I have completed my under graduate studies in Electrical
Engineering from University of Engineering and Technology Lahore, Pakistan in
October 2017 with CGPA 3.184 out of 4.00. My major subjects are Power System
Analysis, Power System Protection Techniques, Renewable energy, embedded
system, Power Electronics and Process instrumentation & Control. I did final year
projects with the group of Three members like; “Transformer protection system
with smart relay operation mechanism, Maximum power point monitor for the
solar charge on the hybrid power system” and I was made group leader. While
works on these projects I found well motivation in myself towards graduate study
and research in the field of power system and its automation. In addition, for the
past 4 years, I have been a Technical Support Member of E-Club (Department
Technology Association). Through these seminars, such as speed wiring and PLC
programming skills competition, it showed me a lot of emerging technologies in
the field of electrical automation.
Experience:
Presently, I am working as Electrical Engineer at 32 MW Gas power plants
in SCIL (Sitara Chemicals Industries pvt. Limited) Faisalabad, Pakistan. There are
8 GE Genbacher 620 (3MW each) and 2 Deutz gas Engines (4MW each) works in
the power plant. My jobs responsibilities are Power plant Automation with proper
planning and allocation of all available resources and achieve efficient operation of
power plant. In SCIL, I have learned and practically applied the applications of
power system automation along with the maintenance process of extra ordinal
knowledge about power system devices such as Digital Relays, ALS & OLS
system, DCS System, Vacuum & oil circuit breakers, Motors control system,
Boiler protection, Auxiliary system, Transformer protection system, Synchronizing
and load sharing with WAPDA, Sitara Energy PVT limited and CFPP. There is a
fully automated control room for monitoring and controlling the power plant
different parameters. There my curiosity arose about the working of power system
and I decided to learn more advance knowledge about this field. Now my objective
is to purse career in the field of Power System Automation.
My Research Area:
Smart Grid (Improve the reliability and performance of the smart grid and
substation)
Smart Grid is an advanced networking system that manages electricity demand
in a stable, reliable and economical way built on advanced infrastructure and is
facilitated to facilitate integration with everyone else, In other words we can say
that Smart Grid is an Electric Grid which involved variety of operational and
Energy measures including renewable energy resources, smart appliances, smart
meters, renewable energy resources and energy efficiency
Concept of The Smart Grid:
Increasing industrialization, urbanization and infrastructure development has
led to the change in the way to generating electricity, transit and use and due to
this; there has been a lot of stress on the old electric grid structure. In addition,
challenges are increasing due to increased demand for increasing energy with high
quality power and reliability. Grid has increased rapid access to non-linear loads
such as data centers, large-scale speed drives and other electrical electronic
devices.
The smart grid concept provides access to multiple power networks, such as
next generation technologies, distribution creation, distribution automation, power
management system, advanced meeting structures (AMI), and the additional
component of renewable electric vehicle production stations
My Research Work:
I will explore how to use different technologies to improve the reliability and
efficiency of smart grids and substations, improve equipment integration and
technology deployment, improve equipment quality and reduce losses. Although
intelligent substations have made tremendous advances in technology innovation,
equipment development, standard setup and construction, they have to work world-
wide, especially in terms of technology, equipment, design and performance.

Abdul Qadeer Chaudary
