RECENT SERVICE INFORMATION
LETTER
SIL PW200-048 – Nov 2010 – PW207C Exceedance Monitoring
Aircraft Indicated Display System (IDS) retains detailed exceedance data and
basic data for 5 hours of operation
Recommendation to review aircraft maintenance page for indication of
exceedance at an interval of 5 hours or less, and access engine DCU to determine
parameters of exceedance (Under revision)

SIL PW200-050 – Apr 2011 – Automatic Low Cycle Fatigue (LCF) Counting Display
PW206B and PW206B2 operators may witness inaccurate engine LCF value from
aircraft display systems once 9,999 cycles have been accumulated due to number
of available digits (4) used to display accumulated cycles
Recommendation to use P&WC GBS software to access values from engine DCU
every 50 ± 10 operating hours and record it in the engine log book as per Engine
Maintenance Manual

Export Classification : No higher than ECCN 9E991 or equivalent P&WC Proprietary Information 10
FLIGHT HOURS
Engine Maintenance Manual Update
The manual is updated to clarify engine hours
Hours/Engine Hours means Engine Flight Hours

Engine flight hour is defined as the engine operating time between helicopter skids off to
skids on.

Does not include wash runs, motoring cycles etc.

Should not be confused with the DCU ‘engine runtime’ which is a reference
value only.

Low Cycle Fatigue (LCF) Counting

Export Classification : No higher than ECCN 9E991 or equivalent P&WC Proprietary Information
AIRWORTHINESS LIMITATIONS
Low Cycle Fatigue (LCF) Counting
The AWL provides LCF Limits for the critical components
Impeller, CT Disc, PT Disc

The PW200 Control System provides Automatic LCF Counting

Calculated by the EEC
Stored in the DCU
Revert to manual LCF counting if the EEC or DCU are inoperative

Manual LCF Counting is available (Back-Up)

Cycles should be calculated manually in accordance with the formula in the EMM

(Typical formula – please refer to the relevant EMM for the latest information)

AIRWORTHINESS LIMITATIONS
Consistency Check
Consistency Check of the Automatic Low Cycle Fatigue (LCF) Counting

At 50 ± 10 hours, the operators must enter the accumulated cycles for

each LCF component in the engine logbook

Perform a consistency check as follows:

Ensure the cycles for each LCF increase at rate of a least 0.3 cycles per mission
Compare the cycle count increases between the two engines
Percentage Difference normally within 10%
Outside 10% - refer to SIL PW200-042 for types of operation that can lead to a
discrepancy

environmental erosion is occasionally
seen for:
High cycle operators
Non-prepared landing areas
Sandy environments

Predominantly first response

ambulance missions
