A 16-year-old female patient, C.K., was in room 505 of the pediatric ward due to being at high risk for injury. On April 27th at 1pm, the patient was awake in bed with an intact IV in her right hand. The nurse took steps to prevent injury by keeping the bed rails up and locked, advising those watching the patient not to leave her unattended, and monitoring her health and food intake. No injuries were noted. On April 28th at 1pm, the same prevention steps were taken as the patient had an IV in her left hand, and again no injuries occurred.
