SUBJECT: SCIENCE
CLASS: X
General Instructions:
Learning Objectives:
Sustainable development goal as suggested by UN ( SDG 6 & SDG 7 ):
1. To research and acquire knowledge to develop conceptual understanding and skills to
solve problems.
2. Ability to solve problems by developing creative and critical skills.
Material requirement:
• Device like laptop/ tablet/ phone, Internet connection
• Cardboard carton, bottles, newspaper, chart paper, scissors, fevicol.
• Poster colour, brush
• Materials to make the model as per your creativity.
NOTE: Extra credit will be given to the students using recyclable, reusable and eco-
friendly material.
Things not to be used: Thermocol, single use plastic and other non-biodegradable material.
Steps to follow:
1. Research about the provided theme (May refer to the provided links)
2. Plan out a working model as per the given theme. (Size 40 X 50 cm)
3. Be sensitive enough not to use non-biodegradable substances as responsible citizens.
4. Check the working status of the model before submission.
5. Also prepare a digital presentation of your working model. (PowerPoint presentation)
6. Be creative and display your own ideas.
Europe generates large amounts of waste: food and garden waste, construction and demolition
waste, mining waste, industrial waste, sludge, old televisions, old cars, batteries, plastic bags,
paper, sanitary waste, old clothes and old furniture… the list goes on.
Poor waste management contributes to climate change and air pollution, and directly affects
many ecosystems and species.
The three R's – reduce, reuse and recycle – all help to cut down on the amount of waste we
throw away. They conserve natural resources, landfill space and energy. Plus, the three R's
save land and money communities must use to dispose of waste in landfills.
On an A4 size sheet, explain the three R’s as per the topic allotted to your class
TASK 2: Plan and prepare a working model of sustainable area based on your
class theme:
