On September 30, 2022, Rizal Elementary School began the Sci-MATH Culmination. After
two years of the pandemic, the events celebrate the importance of Science and Mathematics
in the lives of students and ordinary people alike. Every day, Mathematics demonstrates how
we adapt to this world in order to have a better future. Ms. Claudine B. Cornita, the School
Mathematics Coordinator, kicked off the events with the theme "Adapting, Engaging, and
Applying Mathematics in the New Normal."
The program started on time with Jennifer F. Eco as the master of ceremony, taking care of
the audio-visual presentation of the Philippine National Anthem, followed by a prayer by
Ma’am Ma. Elenita M. Tecson, a welcome address by Sir Jo-Fiel R. Bautista, the School
Science Coordinator, Acknowledgement of the participants in every grade level by Ma’am
Warlyngenn A. Verano; Statement of Purpose by School Math Coordinator, Claudine B.
Cornita; followed by an entertaining dance presentation of selected Kinder Garten by Ma’am
Leah M. Alibangbang. An encouraging message by Ma’am Albina V. Cabilin, School Head;
and lastly, the contest proper. The following events, venues, participants, and winners along
with their respective facilitators were announced in the summary below:
1. Grade I to III Poster Making Challenge facilitated by Ma’am Jennifer E. Eco, Grade
2-Tecson, Edevyl Dionson, ranked first; Grade 1-Eco, Prince Ezra Saluan, ranked
second; Grade 1-Verano, Terence S. Pastorite, ranked third; and Grade II-De Catsro,
Dante Jr. Tagud, ranked fourth. It was held in the classroom of Grade III-Janozo. All
posters were posted on the school stage, as it was judged accordingly.
2. Individual Poster Making Grade I to IV facilitated by Ma’am Ma. Elenita M. Tecson,
held in the classroom of Grade III-Janozo. Grade IV-Bautista, Jay-ar O. Dacuya
ranked first, Grade V-Janozo, Shairra Kie A. Ochia ranked second in Grade-IV-
Cornita, Rhean Nathan D. Navarro ranked third. All the posters were posted on the
school stage as it was judged accordingly.
3. Ma'am Warlyngenn A. Verano hosted Rubics Cube challenges in her classroom for
students in Grades I to III. Garde III-Janozo, Cedric Dacuya finished the challenge in
5 minutes, ranking first; Garde III-Verano, Daniel Socias finished in 11 minutes,
ranking second; and Garde I-Verano, Rey Jane Ondap finished in 20 minutes, ranking
third.
4. In the higher-grade Rubics Cube challenge facilitated by Ms. Candelani D. De Castro
in her classroom, Grade IV-Cornita, Lebron James Bolasa ranked first place as he was
the only challenger
5. The Soduko Challenge facilitated by Ma’am Lorena A. Janozo held in her classroom
facilitated three participants on higher grades, namely, Kobe E. Amac, Grade IV-
Bautista with a total score of 51 ranked first place; Accel G. Valera, Grade V-Janozo
All activities were conducted simultaneously, and they concluded at 11:50 a.m. with few
disruptions. The winners were announced and certificates were given and awarded on
Tuesday, October 4, 2022, following the Flag Raising Ceremony. The outcome was tabulated
after the events by respected teachers. Mr. Jo-Fiel R. Baustista announced the winners, who
were assisted by Ma'am Albina V. Cabilin, School Head, and Ma'am Leah M. Alibangbang,
Techer II.
