MEASUREMENT METHOD AND UNIT

INSULATION WORK
FWBS CODE : 9000

GENERAL

(1) Unless otherwise noted, the following measurement method and unit shall be applied to
insulation work as defined in ANNEX-1.

(2) The quantities defined herein shall be "Net" based on JGC GULF's drawings and/or
specifications unless otherwise noted.

(3) The work progress for payment shall be added up as and when JGC GULF's final
inspection is executed with a satisfactory result.

FWBS & DESCRIPTION UNIT OF BILL OF QUANTITY

-9100 Hot Insulation

-9110 Equipment/Flange Cover M2

(1) This work shall be measured by the insulated area calculated from the drawings by
using the formula provided in Table-A of this measurement method by each
insulation thickness.

(2) Nozzles, man-holes, flanges, valves, supports, rings, etc. and flange covers for these
apparatus attached to the insulated equipment shall not be taken into account for
the measurement but shall be deemed included in the measurement defined in (1)
above.

(3) Even in the case of heat traced equipment the measurement shall be the same as
defined in (1) above.

Any tubing or wiring for the heat trace which is in contact with the equipment shall
not be measured separately but shall be deemed included in the measurement
defined in (1) above.

The tubing or piping which is not in contact with equipment (i.e. parts between the
header manifold and the traced equipment) shall be measured in FWBS 9120.

(4) Progress is counted by each equipment item when insulation work including
jacketing on the subject equipment is completed, except for parts of flanges etc.
where insulation will be applied only after the works such as hot bolting, leak check
etc. is completed.

-9120 Piping & Fittings M

(1) This work shall be measured by the linear length of insulated piping calculated from
the drawings by using formulas provided in Table-B of this measurement method by
each nominal size and insulation thickness.

(2) Fittings and in-line components such as elbows, tees, Y-branches, crosses, reducers,
O-lets, bosses, caps, plugs, unions, strainers, filters, valves, etc., shall not be measured
separately but shall be deemed included in (1) above.

(3) Even in the case of heat traced piping the measurement shall be the same as
defined in (1) above.

In other words, any tubing or wiring for the heat trace which is in contact with the
main piping to be heat traced shall not be measured separately but shall be
deemed included in the measurement of the main piping defined in (1) above.

The tubing or piping which is not in contact with the main piping (i.e. parts between
the header manifold and the main piping) shall be measured in this FWBS 9120 as
independent piping.

(4) Progress is counted when insulation work including jacketing for one (1) pipe line test
system is completed except for parts where insulation will be applied only after the
work such as hot bolting, leak check etc. is completed.

-9200 Cold Insulation

-9210 Equipment/Flange Cover M2
-9220 Piping & Fittings M

Same measurement methods as 9110 and 9120 shall be applicable respectively.

-9300 Personnel Protection

-9310 Equipment/Flange Cover M2
-9320 Piping & Fittings M

Same measurement methods as 9110 and 9120 shall be applicable respectively.

-9400 On-stream inspection plug Pcs

This work shall be counted by the number of plugs to be installed per size.
