DO NOT TAKE THE PRE-ASSESSMENT BEFORE STUDYING THE COURSE MATERIALS!!!

This is an extremely complex course and requires an extensive amount of studying. It is imperative that you
master the course concepts before taking any assessment.

Primary Course Material

There are four primary learning resources for this course:

1. Mike Chapple CCSP series videos on LinkedIn Learning. The link to the videos is below:
a. https://lrps.wgu.edu/provision/286925481. The videos are critical to watch. They need to be
watched attentively with one’s full focus and not at work in the background. Take notes while
watching the videos. The videos provide each student with a proper foundation in cloud security
which will prepare them for learning the rest of the course.
2. From the main course page go to the primary learning resource and navigate to Section 6, Ch. 12. Read
the entire PDF “Security Guidance: For Critical Areas of Focus In Cloud Computing”. This document is 152
pages and is more than a simple read. The concepts within this document must be mastered. The best
way to do this is to divide it into small sections, review the content, identify the most important concepts,
highlight them and restudy those sections each day.
3. Review the C838 Laws, Regs, Orgs, Study Guide V0. It will be sent to you in an email and can be accessed
within the course material. This document contains crucial laws, rules and regulations pertaining to cloud
security. While students do not have to memorize the actual laws, they must know what each law does
and its applicability. A good way to accomplish this task is to print out the seven-page MS-Word doc, cut
it up and make it into flash cards.
4. The CCSP study guide is the primary learning resource for the course. It is extensive and covers all aspects
of cloud security. Read this document after you have mastered the materials in the resources mentioned
above. Following this study plan in the prescribed order will help each student build a solid foundation in
which to build cloud security knowledge and enable them to master the concepts within the next learning
resource.

Additional Resources

Sybex questions: Complete all of Sybex Practice tests with a score of at least 90%. To do them online, go to the

receive a pin.

Exam Attempts

Attempt 1: To unlock your exam for scheduling for the 1st attempt at the exam, you must attempt the course
preassessment. Upon completion of the preassessment, the “Schedule Now” button will appear in the
assessments section of your main course page. You have control to essentially approve your 1st attempt.

Attempts 2-4: For 2nd and subsequent attempts, your assigned Course Instructor will be the individual that
approves your retake(s) following your completion of a tailored retake study plan and conditions for approval
outlined by him or her. If you fail the first Objective Assessment and has not passed the Pre-Assessment, expect
one of the conditions for approval to be passing the pre-assessment before receiving approval for the second
Objective Assessment attempt. Your assigned course instructor will provide the full list of conditions for approval.

Attempts 3-4: Additionally, for 3rd and subsequent attempts, you will be charged an out-of-pocket fee of $60 to
retake your exam. Minimum wait time before attempt 3 and before attempt 4 is five days.

Note - You are allotted only 4 attempts at the exam. Review the Assessment Policies section of your Student
Handbook for additional information. WGU Student Handbook-Assessment-Policies
