Materials needed:
1. YarnArt Dolce, 100% micro polyester, 100g/120m, next
colors:

• for body – red № 748


• for hat – green № 772, white № 741
• for nose and legs– nude № 747

2. Crochet hook 4 mm (US: F/5, UK:8)


3. Holofiber, thick sewing needle, pins.
4. Piece of cardboard 6 on 6 inch for one gnome’s base.

If you follow this advice your gnome will be 70 cm (27.5


inch) with legs.

Abbreviations:
ch – chain stitch
st - stitch
sc – single crochet
hdc – half double crochet
dc – double crochet
trc – treble crochet

inc – increase, 2 sc in the next sc
dec – decrease, sc2tog, single crochet 2 stitches

CL – cluster
3dcCL - a cluster of 3 double stitches.

Body.
With red yarn.
Start with making a round base. Work in continuous rounds

Cut the yarn. Make the ties as shown on the photos.
Finish the round in an invisible way: pull the end of yarn
through the last stitch completely, thread the end of yarn
through the needle, skip one stitch and guide the yarn into
the next stitch as shown on the photo.
Insert the needle back in the same hole where the yarn
comes from. Fasten the obtained stitch.
This stitch is called a «closing stitch». When you are
finished, fasten the yarn on the back side of detail.

Pompom.
With red yarn.
Rnd 1: 6 sc in Magic Ring (6), go on
in continuous rounds without slip
stitches.
Rnd 2: 6 inc (12)
Rnd 3: (1 sc, inc)*6 (18)
Rnd 4-5: sc in each stitch around 2
rounds.
Rnd 6: (1 sc, dec)*6 (12)
Stuff with the fiber.
Rnd 7: 6 dec (6)

Cut the yarn, leaving a long end.


Close the top using a needle.
Cut the yarn, sew pompom to the top of hat, hide the end.

Arms.
Start with the white yarn.

Connect green yarn:

Connect red yarn:

rounds.
Stuff the bottom part of the arm (palm) with
stuffing material, you don’t have to stuff
the top part of the arm.

Then squeeze the hole of the hand so that


the stitches of the last round line each
other.

Crochet the opposite stitches with 5


sc.

Nose.
With nude yarn.

Beard.
With white yarn.
Work in turning rows.
Chain 15, start with the 2nd loop from
the hook.
Rnd 1: 14 sc
Begin to crochet curls.

Work in turning rows with each curls.


Rnd 2: ch 11, start with the 2nd loop
from the hook: (sc, inc)*5, 1 sl
st in the stitch of first row.
Rnd 3: ch 13, start with the 2nd loop
from the hook: (sc, inc)*6, 1 sl
st in the stitch of first row.
Rnd 4: ch 15, start with the 2nd loop
from the hook: (sc, inc)*7, 1 sl
st in the stitch of first row.
Rnd 5-11 : ch 17, start with the 2nd
loop from the hook: (sc, inc)*8, 1

Connect the white yarn:

Stuff the foot part of the leg with
stuffing material, you don’t have to stuff
the top part of the leg.

Connect the nude yarn:


Rnd 14: BLO 12 sc
Rnd 15-32: sc in each stitch around 18
rounds.
Rnd 33: 6 dec

Assembly and decoration.
Attach the arms, beard and nose to the body with some pins
between 32 and 33 rounds of the body.

Put on the hat. The top of arms and nose should be placed
under the hat. Move them the way you like.
Take off the hat, sew the arms, beard and nose to the body.

Put on the hat and attach it to the body with hidden


stitches.

Put on the breeches on the legs, sew the legs to the body
on the 13-th round of body, distance between the legs 15
sc. Sew the breeches to the body, distance between the
legs 4-5 sc.
