1.4.3 Temporary Sewerage Facilities

The contractor shall install, operate maintain and subsequently remove all temporary
facilities which provide sewage & garbage disposal services including network of
manholes, holding tank and garbage yard & bins for site offices, camps, if any, that
may require in connection with construction works.
1.5 CONTRACTOR’S OFFICES AND WORKING AREA

The Contractor shall provide, erect, construct, maintain and subsequently remove all
temporary offices, sanitary conveniences, stores, workshops, compounds, parking
areas and the like necessary for the completion and maintenance of the Works. The
setting and layout of these shall be to the general approval of the Employer and the
Engineer.
The Contractor shall also provide, maintain and subsequently remove temporary
accommodation and living facilities including all necessary services for water supply,
drainage, lighting and heating, roads, paths, parking places and refuse disposal for
his staff and other employees and for the employees of this Sub-contractors.
1.6 SITE ROADS AND ACCESS

The Contractor shall arrange for, construct, maintain and afterwards remove and
reinstate all temporary site roads and accesses required for and in connection with
the execution of the Works. Reinstatement shall include restoring the area of such
roads and accesses to at least the degree of safety, stability and drainage that existed
at the time the Contractor entered the site.
1.7 OFFICES FOR THE ENGINEER AND HIS STAFF

The Contractor shall supply, erect and until three months after substantial completion,
satisfactorily maintain in good repair, and light, temporary burglar-proof buildings for
the exclusive and separate use at all times as offices by the Engineer and his staff.
This shall be provided for the extent of the Contract plus one month after substantial
completion to enable snagging etc. to be carried out as deemed necessary by the
Engineer.
The Contractor shall provide adequate vehicular access to the offices and a shaded
car park adjacent thereto, for parking the Engineer’s vehicle.
The Contractor shall be responsible for providing electricity, potable water and
drainage to the Engineer’s office.
The Contractor shall be responsible during the continuance of the Contract for
security of the offices and for all plans, documents and papers and other articles
contained therein.
The office construction shall be of a permanent or approved portable type, full details
of which shall be submitted to he Engineer for approval within 14 days of signing the
contract. The Engineer shall notify the Contractor of his approval in writing and unless
otherwise agreed in writing the offices shall be completed for occupancy within 30
days of signing the contract. No permanent works may be started until the offices are
ready for occupation.

The building shall be constructed to approve tropical standards, be well ventilated and
air-conditioned, provide with windows capable of being screened for the direct rays of
the sun and adequately weatherproofed. The siting of the building shall be in
accordance with the instructions of the Engineer.
The details of the buildings, furniture and facilities to be provided shall be as the
itemized list below.
The Contractor shall at the completion of the Contract be responsible for the removal
of the buildings, foundations, and ancillary structures, which shall revert to his
ownership.
The Contractor shall arrange for and pay all costs in connection with the installation of
a telephone line in the Engineer’s office, pay all rental charges and expenses (Local
calls only) and the completion of the Contract arrange for and pay all costs involved in
the removal of the telephone.
1.7.1 Office Space Requirements
